HadIt.com Elder LarryJ Posted October 11, 2009 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 11, 2009 Medicare is Primary for wife and ChampVA pays the copays I would have to pay. When she gets Meds we pay 25% plus ChampVA 75% and don't use Medicare Part D. Pete, if you are out very much on the 25% that CHAMPVA (I thought it was 20%) doesn't pay, towards your wife's meds, then AMRA has that supplemental policy that runs us about $80 every quarter. They'll pick up ALL that CHAMPVA does not pay. For us, it's a really REALLY good deal, because The Wife has diabetes and she is on a couple of druges that the co-pay is like $150 a month (Byeta, is, I think, the name of one of them (we call it "lizard spit" because it is derived from the Gila Monster saliva secretions, believe it or not)). Anyway, check out the AMRA site.
