The VA gets away with it because they can.

Altho this story is from a while back, I would welcome someone to publish a link to more recent numbers. This seems to be an area where it is a "carefully guarded secret" at the top levels of the VA. Im sure they dont want the media to know that 96% of Veterans who apply get nothing the first round.

Terry is alive and well at veteransinfo.org.(Snakecharmer's vets site)

He told his whole story there and posted the newspaper accounts of when he sued a nursing home.and won.

He is one of the smartest vets I know- but his SC disability (schizophrenia) does impact on him tremendously.I learned a lot from him.

GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.

This info is 7 years old and has been posted on Hadit several times.

The sources of this information is unreliable and not proven.

I know Terry Higgins and he really is an advocate for Vets and I respect what he does.

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.

You guys are extremely knowledgeable, and I for one and lucky you guys post. Bronco, is right, and to a larger point, they, themselves are the reason they have a backlog, yet, we all suffer. I am sure that is the plan. Create a huge backlog, so when a large sum claim comes along, they can continue to push it back and hope the VET PASSES, before they review and grant the claim. It is a shame, but, it is what it is. I wish Congress, would put a timeframe on them, and start to garnish the wages of some of the VA employees.

Many here at Hadit have said in the past the VA is like a merry-go-round. One has to step off (die) for another to step on (100%). The number of 100% vets is pretty stable for being at war for ten years. Terry Higgins flew over the Cuckoo's nest when he escaped the vet home with case in hand. When the vet home abused him he would pull the fire alarm. I thought he was crazy, but I know different now.

That part about 'How many of you received that denial on Friday..." is so true... they must do that to piss people off.. to show who's boss and to make sure they make you understand they hold your life in their hands..

deny, deny, until the poor sob vet dies..

Not in appeals, since I got 100%, and some of it was winning an 1151 negligence, which the VA turns out does not give ful benefits if you win 1151 negligence they squirm and legal loophhole you and your family out of many benefits, really crapp nasty bunch running the va benefits, they wil backstab and scre wyou even if you win you lose.
