Not Va Related But Still Disrespectful To Vets

Question

This kind of thing really burns my britches, especially when the moron in question becomes a celebrity because of it. It really angers me when I hear of guys parading around as soldiers or veterans when they've never served, or didn't graduate boot camp (and I don;t mean those who couldn't through no fault of their own by way of injury/disease). There was that idiot Charlie Andrews on the national Geographic show "Knights of Mayhem" who purported to be a Navy Seal but never got out of boot camp, and was just a disgrace to Seals, knights, & the human race itself. Now there is Steve Jordan. He's a public figure (1st clue that he's prolly not even legit & just a troll, no actual profile, just a public figure page) on Facebook who pretends to be a Ranger, claims he has a Parachutist Badge, Purple Heart, etc. & helped rescue POWs from Vietnam....yet mysteriously won't give any dates, unit assignments or any other proof when asked.

This is a petition sire that was started by another vet under Stolen Valor to shut him down:

And pls feel free to drop by his Facebook Page under Steve Jordan. Maybe you guys will have better luck at finding out some history, as I;ve tried a few times & he just doesn't seem to have answers for me....mad.gif

Nice to see you again Veldrina!

I sure value all the posts you have made here.

I dont know how these wannabees sleep at night.

They should be given court appointed unpaid jobs at some of our military hospitals to see what Military service and sacrifice really is all about.

I live near the beautiful Bath NY VAMC. There is a sign in the entrance that says “The Price of Freedom is Visible Here”

You only have to be on the grounds for a few minutes to know what that sign means.

The price of Freedom is also visible here at hadit, through the posts of these brave men and women.

There was a non vet wannabee running a large vet org here in NY years ago.

He got into trouble when he could not produce any proof of military service.

The odd thing is that he had helped so many vets, the vet org still wanted him be a member.

I dont know how, when it is easy to do detective work these days via Intelius etc, how these people dont get caught sooner?

GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.

I hope you're doing well at work and having fun on your off time! smile.png

Off time? heeheehee, you're funny! They had us doing mandatory OT, but then ran out of money & aren;'t sure if we will continue. I am fine with working over the cap of 20 hrs, but they won't let me. >:( On the weekends I am also now taking care of my horse, who I just got in Feb., so both my husband & I now have horsies! I am looking for a bumper sticker that says "I used to have money. Now I have horses." So true. Also, we are brokering cases out of the office like crazy to specialized rating centers in an effort to whittle down the backlog, so things are pretty nuts right now at the VA. The good news is that vets should be hearing on some long-awaited claims real soon. :)

Veldrina,

Here are a couple of sites that go after these clowns pretty hard.

I read the "Hall of Shame Inductees" from time to time. Pretty "entermentaining", as my daughter would say.

I used to get upset at these kinds of stories... but I soon realized that I was just a waste of energy. Look, if you can't change something or have no control over something then why duell on it.....

The fact is I think these kids of people only hurt themselves, sooner or later they will be discovered for what they are and will be disgraced.. usually it is something they say that eventually causes thier story to fall apart. These people usually have a self esteem issue, lack of confidence etc.... otherwise who in their right mind would even think about presenting theirself as someone they are not...

I say move on, ignore them because dwelling on them is a waste of time that could be put to better use......
