Warone
Hi, my second post on this site. I'm wondering about tinnitus. I've told my military doctor about the ringing and he noted it on my medical paperwork, but do I have to be officially tested before I can successfully claim it and win? 0 syne7
Here is the statement I put in my tinnitus claim. I will let you know how it turns it. It appears they are sending me to an hearing exam: I understand that according to VA Training Letter 10-02 and 38 CFR 3.385, if service treatment records mention a complaint of tinnitus, the veteran claims tinnitus, and has current complaints of tinnitus, a medical opinion regarding possible causation is not required. Service connection can be established without an opinion about the specific cause of the tinnitus because it began in service.

Moderator brokensoldier244th Posted December 27, 2013 Moderator Share Posted December 27, 2013 There isn't a test. If it's noted in your records and you were around noise it's s pretty safe filing. Warone
Okay, that's good to know. Proving is easy with many many years around helicopters and a steady loss of hearing. Also just started Wellbutrin (with Zoloft) and the ringing is now 3x as loud. Anyone else experience this? Great website, a huge amount of useful information. A general thanks to everyone, I've been reading for days now, and and learned a lot. Here's why I ask about the test. Apparently there are some types of tests, maybe the VA or military doesn't use them? http://www.avada.com/faq-tinnitus.html http://www.aafp.org/afp/2004/0101/p120.html Anyway, thanks again. HadIt.com Elder Philip Rogers Posted December 27, 2013 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted December 27, 2013 I've never had any tests for it. It is possible your Wellbutrin causes tinnitus, also, so check the side effects. Also be sure to complain, to your doctor, about it, periodically, as the VA could miss the one entry. They have that habit. jmo pr
