Sleep Apnea

I was dx yesterday with sleep apnea- moderate, at the VA Medical Center by a VA sleep doc. I want to consider filing a secondary claim for SA, secondary to my service connected Major Depressive Disorder which is secondary to my SC DJD and thigh rupture. I will get my private doc to give me a IMO connecting the event. What change I got to get my claim thru with a good IMO from Dr Bash? Right now I am 160% with a extra $300.00 per month.

What do you expect to gain if you get OSA service connected? You won't get any more money. You will have to pay Bash 2000-3000 bucks. I know how you feel because I would like to get my OSA SC'ed as well, but what do I stand to gain. I am in your boat as well. I got TDIU plus "S". SC for OSA would make me 100% scheduler but is it worth it now?

How about the fact that OSA can cause death, and would need to be service connected, directly or indirectly, in order to be qualified for DIC for the surviving spouse?

I think that's a good reason to bother.

As long as the Cpap is used and not put in the closet then I think death is taken of the table.

Supposedly, a CPAP may not be effective for "central" sleep apnea.

Nobody wears the mask all the time, if its hot at night it get real uncomfortable, if your sinuses are bothering you its hard to wear it.
