Jumpmaster
Congratulations! Trouble sleeping--you should consider asking your Dr. for "Ambien" or another sleep aid. It helps calm your nerves, allowi you to sleep and feel relaxed at the sleep lab, with all the wires attached, monitoring your brain waves, heart rate, and oxygen desaturation, snoring, choking/stoppage of breathing. Alll events are recorded and if the technician need to place the CPAP mask on you to finish the test. The ambien may help you adjust to the airflow which starts off at a low rate and the technician increases the flow as you continue to show apnea events, while wearing the CPAP mask. In order to get a rating for sleep apnea--you have to go to sleep to prove you truly have sleep apnea. Consult with your physician and follow his/her advice beforeyour next sleep study.
