Question

I'm a late life dad with >30% SC. I get a additional amount for a child. Now that he is 18 and enrolled in Community College I wonder if I will get a reduction in compensation. He is working part time and waiting now for the spring term to begin. I am anticipating the letter telling me of my reduction in comp $$. Am I correct?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

That's not correct. Since he's going to college you can be paid until a dependent is 23.

Thanks for correcting me. Can you also clarify the issue of dependent receiving Chapter 35 benefit and dependency status, for me? Does veteran lose dependent pay if dependent is receiving Chapter 35 money and if so why? Thanks.

Sure, when you are 100% either by IU and P&T or 100% schedular your dependent can apply for chapter 35 benefits which is presently $827 per month for full time student. The 827.00 is sent directly to the dependent and this is when you will not receive any money for that dependent in your disability pay.
