It is to the Secretary office I stand corrected on this not being the Presidents plan. I was informed it was. She said Shulkin came down to see what the prevailing issues were and this one was one of the most complained about. Shulkin is meeting with the President today and bringing it to his attn. thanks Marina53 for bring it up with the number. I also made a complaint about having to drop my knee replacement for a deal for P&T. A specialist is supposed to call me about it. Wow, that's great! I just don't understand why this wasn't thought through. Anyone on P/T TDIU is not going to have any significant social security or retirement plan. What are they thinking? And unless I'm wrong, if it does go through, VA will be flooded with claims of the TDIU vets to get 100% schedular. Buck52
0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted June 2, 2017 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 2, 2017 Your correct marina53, j basser mention this on his radio show last night about the veterans being effected with ths IU Bill & applying more claims or increase to reach the scheduler 100% The only thing is they (senate /congress committee) needs to think this IU Proposal Through long and hard because as I understand the CFR's A veteran can appeal a reduction and keep his current payment going until a decision is made...We all know the back log on Appeals it can years to decide...so they really need to think this Proposal Bill through....or nip it in the Bud
0 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Vync Posted June 2, 2017 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 2, 2017 Veterans who were awarded IU/TDIU status were unable to remain gainfully employed through retirement age through no fault of their own. They missed out on the opportunity to build their retirement nest eggs through normal means like savings, pensions, and investments. seminoles, Buck52 and marina53
0 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Vync Posted June 2, 2017 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 2, 2017 I wonder if this would make any difference: §3.951 Preservation of disability ratings. (a) A readjustment to the Schedule for Rating Disabilities shall not be grounds for reduction of a disability rating in effect on the date of the readjustment unless medical evidence establishes that the disability to be evaluated has actually improved. 0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted June 2, 2017 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 2, 2017 (edited) I agree with ya Vync I would much rather be able to work, we could have had more & live more comfortable had I been able to work than we have with my IU pay. If I could have worked I would prefer to work but I am also greatful that I got IU Paid at the 100% rate b/c of my S.C. Disability's. and had to stop working Me and My spouse depend on my IU each month just to make ends meet and pay out Mortgage each month. If VA cuts us Veterans off ..then they can pay off our mortgage and some of the other bills to be able to make it on a 90% monthly pay with spouse only at 1,894.71 $$ wishful thinking but they need to just leave well enough alone. jmo Edited June 2, 2017 by Buck52

This is not the 1st time IU has been on the chopping block. The Bean Counters see a very large savings by eliminating and or cutting IU to Vets that also receive SS Bennies. In the past, the prop
