Depression VA Disability claim

I submitted VA disability for anxiety and depression but awarded 10% insomnia secondary to chronic pain.

For update. Contracted clinic did my C and P. On my anxiety and depression claim, I was rated 10% insomnia secondary to chronic pain due to MVA rated 0%. My sleep apnea was rated 50% ten years ago. I claimed for asthma and allergic rhinitis as presumptive illness (VA send me letter that I may qualify due to Gulf War Burn Pit exposure).  They approved my asthma but they just connect it to my 50% sleep apnea (no increase).  I am still waiting for my allergic rhinitis claim.  A VA disability advisor said, may increase my insomnia because it's MH issue. Do I have a good chance?

allergic rhinitis should be its own thing, if you were a gulf war vet. They recently changed the ratings schedule for it, and extended the delimiting date for claiming it to 2026.

10% for depression is a low ball rating.  I would not accept that without getting an IMO and appealing it.

Depends on what his medical notes say, what he's put as symptoms and explained to his doctor, and the severity of the MVA. I had a veteran the other day claiming, basically, complete musculoskeletal system failure from an MVA in svc, but proceeded to re-enlist w/no waivers and NCO evaluations praising them on their PT fitness as they led groups, among other things. 

They also claimed depression, along with chronic pain from the MVA, yet never had issues with it again. They also claimed 20 yrs later with 2 VAMC visits in between discharge and their claim, and one of those visits was an 'intake' and registration only. 

You can't just toss off every low rating is a 'low ball' rating. 10% exists for a reason.

As others hear will tell you we will need more information like the rating letter. You will need to redact ID info. Name, address, phone, and Social Security.

If you disagree with this decision, you can always appeal. Be sure that there is enough evidence in your records that warrants a higher rating.
