"new " Secretary Of V.a. Selection
Finally, after much outcry from vets like me,news, other watchdog groups, calling congressmen, senators and the President, Jim Nicholson has resigned with an unrepented heart I might add. Confessing that He has done no wrong.....and boasting of his "accomplishments??????", Mr. Nicholson ignorantly leaves an already troubled system in state of mass confussion and 100's of thousands vets in limbo. O.K. so now what happens and what you can do....YES , YOU. I know , you are tired and it won't help and I have better things to do like sit on the porch swatting flies and blah blah blah. Here is what I did yesterday. I called the Presidents comment line 202-456-1111. An operato…

tinnitus Vertigo Secondary To Tinnitus
Hello. I was 0% SC for tinnitus and bi-lateral hearing loss in 1969. In 2006 I was rated 10% for the tinnitus, and issued hearing aids. Can vertigo be claimed as secondary to tinnitus and/or hearing loss? as I recently had a C&P exam. As I was leaving the doc said "Everything should be OK now" and shook my hand. Did that mean anything? Appreciate feedback.

diabetes Dic Overview
Men and women _I have been asked to participate in a Firebase radio show to night to help a widow DIC claimant who will be their guest. http://www.gcnlive.com/ Network # 1 Firebase Veterans show 5 PM EST- If I have to do a brief overview of DIC for the show -I prepared this and realized it always helps to post this info at hadit too-as the regs have changed in some ways in the past 10 years. Accrued Benefits are part of the DIC application, and will be awarded to the widow or widower as benefits that arise from a claim the veteran had pending at time of death that is awarded based on medical evidence in the c file or in VA’s possession at time of death. Teeth Extraction In Service
Good Morning All, I read the reg on Sc for tooth extraction, am a little confused. I had all but 7 teeth removed when I was in the service 1964 to1967. upon discharge I never went to a VA dentist for treatment. I have recently started to have trouble with the lower and upper jaw due to bone loss. In anyones opinion should I put in a claim for dental treatment at the VA. I have lost my private dental coverage and am finding it rather expensive to get treatment . thanks Rich

Mansfield Next Sec?
I agree with Larry (VA WAtchdog) and would think the odds are even higher than what he said: http://vawatchdog.org/07/nf07/nfJUL07/nf071907-1.htm Gordon Mansfield Bio: http://www1.va.gov/opa/bios/biography.asp?id=30 and also as Larry Scott said- will it really make a difference whoever the Sec is? That is the big question- and they need aggressive and decisive leadership- I heard Gordon is too nice to everyone to be a viable Sec.

How Do You Become A Rater
Just wondering if anyone knows what qualifactions it takes to be a rater. Maybe if they were raised it would help with the back log. As we all know the back logs are a result of raters not following the law and regulations and their inability to fully understand the claims process as evidenced from some of the outrageous rating decisions and SOC's. Heck I guess it also extends to the senior raters (DRO's) as evidenced by the inadequate SOC's they issue.

John seen his VA Doctor for the first time the other day, I was just PSSSed on how he repersented himself. first he called us in 20 minutes late, We walked in and he said what can I do for you today. We looked at him and said you guys where the one's who set up the appointment. He never looked at John's records, He did not want to take time in discussing John's problem. I had two pages of problems listed down to discuss with him and he said Mrs.xxxx I only have 30 minutes. I said look you are going to be his primary doctor from now on I would think you would want to know what's going on with him. I tried to discuss about two Insurance disability papers that needed to be f…
