well folks here it is, see if anyone can figure this out? i had 6 C&P's last month. my C file went back up to the ratings board...again. i called the 1-800 number yesterday to check my status.( i returned a form last week that they sent me asking to submit more evidence from IU. i have no more evidence, so i signed 'rate the claim'.)the person on the distant end said i have to have an audiology exam, as well as exam on my thoracic lumbar etc... which was requested may 21st. i told her that i already did all those last month. she said well maybe theres a glitch in the system. so i called C&P, and after being talked to 'rudely'was told thats whats on the computer. …

hypertension In The Rating Room At Va
Just received information from the VA that they have all the information they need for my PTSD claim and have sent my "complete" packet to the Rating Teams. I was told to expect a decision by August 2007. I dont know how that tracks with others on this board, but was once again told that my claim process seems to be progressing better than a majority of the claims. Berta, I see that you talk quite a bit about secondary claims. I know from your posting a BVA decision (as least I think it was you) that Hypertension may be related to PTSD. My additional claims are for Hypertension, Migraines and Sinusitis. I have submitted all medical records but not an IMO regarding any…

ptsd Rating
My cousin just called the Buffalo RO. Had his C&P for his injuries he recieved in Iraq done on May 2. His claim was rated on May 17. He recieved 70% for PTSD, 40% for left knee, 40% for right knee. They would not tell him his complete rating because of a "bilateral factor" and that is done in a different department within the RO? Can someone do the math for me so I can tell him. Thanks for you help. This was done rather fast? He was very surprised.

100%
Finally got a knew computer so everything is not going black at the bottom. I wrote in last week about my husband getting 100% and what was needed for the ID cards and so forth. We have now got all that taken care of, waiting on forms for me to apply for CHAMPVA, but I think we have everything else. Now, here's my question.... He recieved 70% but paid at the 100%PTIU for mental, however he was denied for his heart. Should he appeal that decision and if so what will happen. Can they take back the 100%PTIU or is it safe? Thanks, sbrewer

How Do I Claim For Peripheral Neuropathy?
It was listed in my medical records from my inital claim, but my rep and I never submitted for it. It was the early stages of my claim and I wanted to make sure I was approved before I added anything else as a secondary. I did have a test for ulnar neuropathy in my left arm and it shows ulnar neuropathy of left arm at the elbow. I have not had any other area tested as of yet. So do I add each area seperatly or can I lump them all together? Thanks, Tamara

Persistence And The
This BVA case caught my eye this AM- http://www.va.gov/vetapp06/files5/0634966.txt It looks to me that the VA obtained 5 opinions against the claim- they narrowed it down to assessing two of these opinions. Dr. Bash opined for the claim using a different approach- then he provided an additional expanded opinion which another doctor agreed with- This claim was initially remanded in 1996-10 years before this decision last year- it also went to COVA and was remanded back to the BVA---- The BVA weighed two of the VA opinions and two of the IMO opinions and granted under Relative equipoise. WHat I feel is important in this case ( the veteran waited for…

diabetes Service Connection For Hearing And Tinnitus
For those trying to get a service connection for hearing loss and tinnitus this might be another way to get a Service Connection. Especially for the older vets that have very thin service records. You may be able to link as secondary and not have to prove it happened while serving. Especially those who were around explosions and in combat, but without the combat MOS. The web site is: www.myehealth.com DIABETES Diabetes is one of the most common diseases in the United States. Although estimates vary from study to study, it appears that about 40 percent of people with diabetes have hearing loss. It usually occurs in both ears and is most severe in the high frequ…
