My Claim
I use to do work study in san diego, so with that your claim goes to LA, (one of the worse places to have your claim) Anyway i put in for an increase for my left shoulder and a new claim for right shoulder secondary. Anyway when i call the 800 number, they can't see any new claims for me in the system, but when i go to the DAV and they look in the system, they tell me that my claim is being worked on and how somebody look at it a few days ago. My question is? Is the d.a.v guys lying to me, or maybe since i use to work for the va and i have a sensitive file the 800 folks can't see whats going on. I need some help with this. tdiu Dic
Here is something, I didn't know about the widow's entitlement to DIC, I know it is still that 10 year limit on before death, but I thought it was 10 years for everything, to bad the whole package wasn't 8 years, but I have read that the democrats, are going to try and change the 10 rule to 5, so hope they get done, before we lose to many more veterans, myself included. Veteran's Death Was On or After January 1, 1993 Effective 12/1/06 Basic Monthly Rate = $1067 (38 U.S.C. 1311(a)(1)) Additional Allowances: a. Add $228 if at the time of the veteran's death, the veteran was in receipt of or entitled to receive compensation for a service-connected disability rate…

Article published Dec 17, 2006, http://www.news-record.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...ID=200661216004 From: DALE PETERS Sent: Sunday, December 17, 2006 2:04 PM To: colonel-dan@sbcglobal.net Inconsistency skews vets' disability pay By Lex Alexander Staff Writer David Best of Fayetteville developed knee pain while serving in the Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. That pain turned out to be a symptom of osteoarthritis in his hip. But the Department of Veterans Affairs has denied Best's disability claim, saying he had suffered no knee injury while in service and knee X-rays taken then were negative. But the doctor who found Best's arthritis several year…

ptsd Ptsd Diagnosis
Got the copy of progress notes from my last pyschiatrist visit it says Axis I Major Depressive disorder Generalized anxiety order v panic disorder with agoraphobia Nicotine dependence R/o PTSD what does the R/o mean? A couple of weeks ago I posted the above in this post and got various answers. Yesterday I had a appoinment with the head of the PCT (POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER CLINICAL TREATMENT TEAM) to discuss my assessment. I told him about the above R/o in the above diagnosis. He told me that it means the doctor thinks I have PTSD but has refered me to a specialist to make that diagnosis. I asked him you are that expert, he said yes. I said and you …

ptsd Asking For A Higher Rating
As you may have read emmak is my sister-in-law and I am trying to help with her husband and son, at this time I am helping her with her son. I have a few questions to ask of all of you He has a rating for uticaria of 10%, has had the problem since 1982 while in the service, it is chronic and he has been suffering with it ever since. How does on go about asking for a higher rate? He did ask for a higher rate I am not sure what year and I am not sure if they even answered him. I had trouble reading the request myself so I don't know if they responded to it, and I think he did it on his own with out any VA Rep. With the medical papers that he recieved from his m…

Cue Claim
Hi Everyone, please tell me what you think of what is listed below. Do you think they will accept this as a NOD or not and do you think that they will resolve this CUE Claim first, as asked. On August 8, 2005 my husband submitted his CUE Claim (with the help of Berta), to the AMC/BVA in Washington, DC. On November 30, 2005 the BVA in their decision sent it to his RO in Hartford Connecticut for development along with his 1958 claim to be developed as well. They specifically stated that these were two issues that needed to be developed. Because my husband had not received anything in writing concerning his CUE Claim, and because when he made calls to 800# they wo…

Third Army Survey Released
From VAWatchdog: http://vawatchdog.org/ Per Larry Scott: "Below is the "official spin" on this report from DoD. The most troubling finding is that the suicide rate has doubled. An article about the suicide rate follows the story below. Also troubling is that the report claims troops are reporting less stigma associated with mental health issues, a finding I find absolutely impossible to believe. My thought is that the troops "said" there was less stigma because they felt that was the answer the Army wanted." Story here... http://www.defenselink.mil//News/NewsArticle.aspx?ID=2468
