Filed For Increase And New Claim
I finally sent in the letter last week to file for an increase for my right knee (currently) at 10%, Lower Back (currently at 10% and now having to go to physical therapy because of the pain), left knee (has gotten worse since I retired 2 years ago, was rated at 0% then) and right ankle (currently 0% but swells up each time I walk more than 1/2 mile) I also filed for anxiety/sepression which was diagnosed by a VA psychiatrist in Evansville who stated it was more than likely caused by my other disabilities. Any advice on what I can do while I wait for the C & P examination(s) Thanks, Tim

V.a Regional Office Visit
When I go to just drop off an envelope of evidence and have to sit for an hour while watching people sit there and nod or get up to go piss and forget to use their cane something is wrong. Something is also wrong when I look down the hall in the offices and see newspapers being read the whole time I`m there. Something is also wrong when I have my evidence so well put together with the file number on every piece and I can`t make the lunch fill in counter person understand what I am doing there. God only knows if the envelope will ever find its way to my file. Kind of goes along with the pattern of every government office. Cavman

My Husband Died On Nov 26th
My husband passed away on Nov 26th. We buried him on Thursday. He was only 58 years old. He was in the hospital 5 times in the last month and half for kidney failure. This last time they were getting ready to start dialysis and he went into cardiac arrest and died. I keep thinking why didn't they do dialysis the 3rd or 4th time why wait until the 5th time. Maybe I should have took him somewhere else. Everyone left today and I'm by myself for the first time. I don't know what to do with myself. I walk from one room to the other just looking at his stuff. I feel like beating my head against the wall. Kathy

diabetes Haas Blue Water Navy
This is from Ray B. Davis to all of his readers- I think I get this now- The Stay is on the potential remands from the BVA to the ROs. Why tie up the system with Remands when the final rules might prevent the need for that. Although the stay could affect Navy vets who recently filed AO claim or haven't yet- they certainly should file their claims ASAP anyhow. Also this allows the BVA to use their decretion in this type of claim and apparently they have done that-as the recent BVA Blue Water AO award shows. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Readers, We posted yesterday, information about the…

Filed Barebones Nod
I was getting pretty close to the deadline when I filed my first NOD. As per instructions from my VSO, I just dashed of a simple statement for him to fax - "I disagree with your denial for chronic otitis", included the reference # and date from the VARO statement. It's been almost a month now and I'm wondering if the next step is mine or if I'll receive something in the mail. Will they send out a form for me to give details or are they scheduling a C & P? Gary

Va's Ability To Provide Benefits Worsens
The good report that the VA gave to congress (Senator Craig Veterans Affairs Committee) was erroneous to say the least. Looks like VA was sand bagging. VA cannot run away from long term facts. http://www.realcities.com/mld/krwashington.../past_coverage/

tdiu Which Route Do I Go To Try To Get 100%
Hi, I recently got awarded 60% disability, but have been out of work as per my doctor since Nov.2005. I am working with the VA and my rep told me to try for the TDIU before even asking for the convalescence temp of 100% because of the time frame I have to ask for it. I am surprised that they overlooked the fact that I am not working as per doctor's orders. In any case, my doctor wrote a letter for me and he was good and even put the direct connection to the military in the letter. But the last line was,” She remains unable to work because of her medical disability" he put in my diagnosis, all the dates, and the fact that I had surgery, what type and he also wrote”…
