Brown Envelope And Duty To Assist Letter
Goe the envelope, denied for depression, overall stated Duty to Assist Letter response was needed from me to give "specific favorable medical opinion of relationship betwen current diagnosis adn active duty service". Not sure if I recieved the letter. Another thing, I attached important police reports etc, they were not identified as part of my submission; VA did state a vague "multiple" documents statement. A ruse? My thoughts, if I had to be specific for them, they oughta do same for me.Interesting note, the VA acknowledged Axis 1 depression; thats good, just stated "no evidence caused by active duty service", ALso show only one year of time that I have been recieving …

Greetings I'm currently rated 20% for HCV and getting ready to undergo a new 48-week FDA approved and hospital controlled HCV treatment session. Will or can the VA approve 100% rating while I'm in treatment. Best Regards Chiefhouse B)

I had my C&P exam 2 months ago with a favorable response from the outside Doctor the VA sent me to. I am not sure what he meant by being past the suspenion period. Would any of you know what that means. Thank you

Member With Email Question
"Hi Berta, I was wondering if you could post a question for me on Hadit? I haven't posted anything since T-Bird changed the site. I am certain that a person(s) at the Buffalo VARO committed a fraud when this misrepresented the facts to the BVA by informing them that I had 'Withdrawn all of my Appeal Issues" dating back to 2001-2004. They regrouped all of the issues( which they fraudulently wiped from the system) under one appeal and sent an appeal election form and VACC Notice, which I haven't returned. What legal rights do I have." Will check the VBM for this vet too- this is one of my email long term friends and hadit member who has actively taken on the…

Back Pay, Again
Found this recent article regarding the back pay issue. Getting a little clearer but not specific enough. Since I just got an increase with retro to may 2001 and am retired military it sounds encouraging. DFAS has always said they didn't pay us retro. This and other recent articles seem to say different. Would be nice.. http://www.military.com/features/0,15240,109299,00.html

Va Spends $348 Million On Travel In 2005
This is a new headline at Watchdog Larry's site- http://www.vawatchdog.org/old%20newsflashe...9-03-2006-1.htm Then another news flash is titled: "AMERICAN LEGION SURVEY SHOWS VA IS DRASTICALLY UNDERFUNDED -- Congress has consistently underfunded the VA. Insufficient staffing leads to long waiting lists." full story at the watchdog link- Right one can readily see the fiasco that the VA truly is- I used to call up Jesse Brown when he was the VA sec-he was NEVER at his office in Washington DC. He was always traveling somewhere when I called- I thought his secretary was just always BSing me- then years later they discovered Sec Brown spent a fortune…

Vcaa
Within the 459,315 cases at the BVA, the word Remand appears in 344,075 of them. Often it refers to a prior remand- However -ALL claims filed after Nov 9,2000 or were undecided as of that date, are required to get a VCAA letter notifying the veteran of what evidence their claim specifically needs to succeed. Of the 344,075 cases at BVA with the word Remand in them - many are like this claim: http://www.va.gov/vetapp03/files/0305362.txt This is a disgrace- every time I read one of this I get really angry- Vet (Army NG) filed claim probably in 2000) the decision says it was filed Prior to the VCAA enactment-- it can take at least two years to go to …

ptsd Should I Request C&p Exam Or Wait?
My Husband recieved his evaluation psych report from the VA contract doctor for his PSTD. It agreed with the SSA doctor so that is two for the PTSD w/depression. We dropped it off and gave it to the SO but the doctor had already sent it to her. WE told her that was the last of the records we had for the C-file and that anything else would be on-going treatment records. She called someone I think at the AL and asked what was going on with the claim. They said they are in the development stage but that they did send in the TDIU. When she got off the phone she was smiling and said it was a good sign when they send in the TDIU form. Guess what.....we sent in the TDI…

tinnitus Mri For Menier's
John's MRI results was negative for Menier's but they found prominence of the cisterna magna. Does anyone have any idea what this is? Would this be a condition for compensation? They can not figure out why he has Vertigo and therapy is not working, still having the dizziness so they referred him back to our primary DR. Does anyone know what other test can be done for dizziness? She was very vague in her letter. I mean she does say he has the hearing loss with symmetrical bilateral tinnitus but no explantation for the dizziness and of course found cisterna magna.

ptsd Native American Veterans
As you know the VA has an agreement with certain tribal Medicine men who provide PTSD therapy. This news is found at The Veteran's Voice-on line (Jeff Schrader et al) "In June U.S. Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman Larry Craig stood with Nez Perce veterans (from left to right) Wilford Scott (Korea and Vietnam), Pete Wilson (Vietnam) and Horace Axtell (World War II). The newly passed benefits bill would allow tribes to apply for grants to establish veterans’ cemeteries on Native lands" Go to the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs link- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Many Native Am…

Blue Water Navy Vets!
Mike (Stretch) reminded me in social- this information cannot be repeated enough- it is too important- this is the biggest news since the VCAA (which the VA buggered already), and the Nehmer Court Order. Whether or not Haas is appealed by the VA successfully---- all affected veterans filing claims under Haas or re-opens will be awarded SC for AO if they have a AO presumptive and the receipt of the VSM. The NVLSP statement I published here last week also mentions Thailand vets and what they should do- and also the Haas decision covers many BVA vets and those at the CAVC -if Blue Water and with a presumptive AO condition. NVLSP confirmed to me last week that th…
