Service Connected
If I want to find out exactly which of my conditions are considered service connected and which are not what is the paperwork I need to ask the VA for when I go to the VAMC. I know there is some screen to ask for and I want to get the low down on just where I am at. I am going to go to the records dept Monday or Tuesday and ask some questions.

Tips To Protect Yourself Agains Identity Theft
1. Burn or shred, with a cross shredder, any mail or financial papers with your personal information on it. Never recycle them. 2. Call 1-888-5OPTOUT and ask to stop credit card companies from sending pre-approved credit card applications to your house. They are ticking identity theft time bombs. 3. Ask your credit card firm to cease delivery of "convenience checks." They, too, are ticking time bombs. 4. You're entitled to one free credit report each year. Get it as soon as possible and review it carefully. 5. Order a credit report a month or more before you make a big purchase or apply for credit, to be sure there are no surprises in your history. 6. Dic Question
About a year and a half ago I lost a friend to cancer. He was 101st in country Viet Nam veteran. At the time his wife did not want anything to do with the VA and she did not feel she could get any help. Now it is time to take up the battle. Her DAV SO suggested she get the cancer doctor to write a letter to connect his Prostrate cancer as "As likely as" to his AO exposure because that cancer is listed as presumptive. He had other cancers too but they were not on the presumptive list. Her SO said "his numbers for Prostrate cancer were very high" and she is trying to help. He had other claims pending and I'm not sure what they were but I will find out. Any suggestions woul…

Dro Or Traditional Appeal Process
Hi everyone, My husband finally got that letter that I spoke of under Options post. It does not mention trial or hearing as he was told by supervisor who called him. In it they acknowledge that they received his disagreement notice for his 1958 claim, and they give him an option to have a DRO review or he could do the Taditional Appeal Process. It explains exactly what each mean. Matter of fact in DRO it sttes New decision: The DRO will then make a new decision. You will be notified of the decision and your appeal rights. Which one do you think he should take DRO or traditional? Also, which is faster? Thanks! Charleese

What Counts As A Disability To The Va
I needed some information. I have submitted a claim for disability but I wanted to know if my VA rep left some things off that should have been counted. They are 1) hernia diagnoised while in Iraq 2) bulding disc in my neck as a result of shrapnel injury while in Iraq (well documented) 3) diagnosed with a staff infection after coming home to recover from my injury from my emergency surgery in Baghdad. None of these things were listed on my original claim. I am still waiting to hear a reply on percentage for my initial claim but wanted to know if these things should be submitted after the first decision is made.

No Pay
I was injuried in Iraq and when I came home the VA doctor said I was unemployable so I can't receive unemployment but I haven't been rated on my disability yet so I'm not receiving any income. Isn't there something for people while they are stuck in the middle and trying to survive?
