How Do We Get A New Representative
My husband just got out of the hospital. He had a heart attack requiring intervention. He, also, developed a GI bleed, which caused him to have 4 units of blood transfused. He is, already, 100% disabled. My problem is, we filed a claim through the American Legion and we got very little help from the rep; so, we dropped him. We have an appeal in on a claim. The VA says that we can't get another rep until this claim is complete. What do we do? Thanks B)

Results Of My Eye C7p
Berta, Here is what he wrote: I got the write up/results from my C&P and here is what it says: Quote: My assessment for Mr X is that he has visual feild loss in the left eye of unknown etilogy. He does have a history of chronic migraines with normal MRI. At this point I would associate his his visual feild loss in his left eye with those migriane headaches. There are evidentary clinical histories of patients with chronic migraines undergoing a permenent scotoma in the eye that the ocular migraine is occurring, and it appears that at this point and time, by diagnosis of exclusion, that this is what Mr X is undergoing. I would feel feel at this point in ti…

Dr. Bash
Has anyone used Dr. Bash for an IME? If so do you feel as though he did a good job it transcribing medical lingo into something the RO could understand. I know he charges on a case by case basis, but what would I expect to pay for this service, maybe a range of fees? Thank you Scott

Rating Board
I'm sure this has been asked and answered many times before, but here goes again. We called the VARO several weeks ago and was told that my husbands claims were with the raters. They said it went to them either the 3rd or 4th of this month. We called again this morning. Well, now we get the answer that it was with the raters, but this time they said it went there on the 27th of this month, which was just Friday. We asked why the date difference. He couldn't/wouldn't tell us anything, except to say that we would not hear anything for the next 60 to 90 days. Very abrupt with us. We have several claims in. Some are remands back from the BVA since January of last…

Today (01-28-2005) ... I received a letter (dated 12-29-2005) ... from the regional DVA and it was titled: ..... "DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS BENEFITS INCREASED" ..... Well, it did show an increase in monthly payment bennies ... HOWEVER ... Below that statement and continuing on the back of the 1 page letter it also stated: That there are nine (9) things that the DVA will be "cross checking" on disabled veterans in reference to their status. Most were common sense .. but number 3 said ... That the DVA will be checking with SSA for those that are on TDIU & paid at 100% rate ... to see if any are receiving "substancial earned income". Now, I d…
