Missing In Action, Mmpi Test Results
I went in to the VAMC today to get a copy of my latest medical records and had expected to receive a report from the psychologist on the results of the MMPI test I took a week ago. My three day stay in the Hospital was well documented, but the MMPI remained missing. Is this report something special that I need to get special approval to get a copy of the written results or might the psychologist not have finished with it as yet? Is anyone familiar with this type of test and how long it might take for the results to show up in the records? my discharge summery list the diagnosis as: AXIS I Dysthymia with Major Depressive Episode and Anxiety AXIS II …

Va Finances
I posted a note about prescriptions I have been receiving and some dental work. That was in December. Since then here is what has happened. Fronm Dec. 04 until Aug. 05 I never received any type of bill for my medication. I even called and asked them why I hadn't received a bill and was told that I didn't owe anything. In mid August I started getting bills. Since that time, it is now Jan. 30, I have been trying to get verification what I actually owe, if anything. To top it off I wrote a detailed account of events for the Billing Supervisor that I sent on Jan. 21 and they have yet to have accept it at the VA. This is getting to be ridiculous. As for a dental p…

New Member With Questions About Reopening Claim (sorry, Long)
Hello, I've been a member for a while here, but I've never posted. I would really love some input from you all about the best way to go about reopening my claim with the VA. As of right now I am rated at 40% total, which breaks down to: 30% for Insomnia, 20% for cervical radiculopathy and strain with left upper extremity weakness, and 0% for mild left sacroiliitis. The 30% for Insomnia was based on a sleep study that showed disturbed nightime sleep. No MSLT (daytime sleep study) was done at that time. The 20% for cervical radiculopathy was for left shoulder pain that I had been seen continuously throughout my military service for, but had never gotten a firm diagnos…

Connecting Husband's Heart Condition
My husband received a copy of his claim file today. He was discharged from great lakes Naval hospital on 11/2/1970 for injuries from a land mine explosion. He was found unfit for duty and received 30% S/C for back hip and Knee injuries. I was going over his records and it looks like they called him back for a C&P on 6/30/1971. These remarks were on the C&P report: 2 M Chestogram, pa and lateral views 6/30/71, shows no consolidative lesion. Heart shadow apears abnormal in that the aortic knob is hypoplastic, (small) and there is prominence of the main pulmonary artery (convex border instead of concave) and there is suggestion of some increased roundness of the…

ptsd Tdiu, Reopen A Claim, File For Increase?
Heres the situation. Come Monday I should have the document in hand by my Psych, stating that not employable PTSD. So with that said. I was planning on filing for the TDIU the same day along with a list of my medications for my back problems and psych as an addition to the PTSD employability isssue. I also need to reopen a claim that I was denied a couple years ago, but have found the medical evidence in my service records that must have been overlooked, connecting it to my service, and I have additional and new evidence in the form of a cervical MRI to support my claim. I also need to file for an increase in my severity of my back issues, and now have the MR…

ptsd Ptsd Reviews -- Exiting Iraq -- For Home
I was talking to a friend who has a relative in the military that just came back from Iraq. They had a "PTSD paperwork exit interview" that was several pages long and asked questions from ... "Did you see anyone killed" .. all the way to .. "Did you engage in hand to hand combat" ??? Well, then the troops were told BEFORE they filled out the form that ... IF ... CERTAIN QUESTIONS ... were answered that possibly showed PTSD. ..... That they would be detained and not released with the others to go home. Well ... I understand that the shrinks may want to talk to them ... but ... some of them personally felt that it was also a form of punishment too. Mainly becau…

ptsd Received 1099 By Mistake
To my surprise yesterday, I received a 1099 for misc. income for the amount of $162,500.00 from a former employer ( wish I had made that money--but I did not ). It will not be a problem to have it rectified with the company that sent it, however I KNOW it will be noticed by the VA when they do their checks with IRS, Soc.Sec., etc... My question is How do I head them off at the pass, so my disability check and benefits do not stop while I am in the process of having it rectified? Should I contact someone in advance and let them know that the 1099 ( as well as the income ) is not mine. I want to stop it before it becomes a snowball rolling down hill. I am sure it is a…

Update On Claim, More Hurry Up And Wait
Well, the new SO is installed in his office, but he hasn't gotten around to opening my claim file to see what is going on and he will be out of town all next week for some area conferance. So it will probably week after next before I get to meet with him to decide on the best next course of action. The DVA Dept of Veteran Affairs in Washington, I guess, wants to know if I want to go with a Reconsideration of my claim, or to proceed with my CUE claim. I'm sort of at a loss as to which would be the better way to go. It sounds like if I go with a reconsideration, they will be able to consider more of the evidnce in my claim as well as new evidence I have sent in recent…
