ptsd Another Ptsd Victim.
Article published Jan 26, 2006 Iraq war veteran's suicide a cry for helping others, friend says An Iraq war veteran's suicide earlier this month was a cry for helping others with post-traumatic stress disorder, his close friend says. Douglas A. Barber, a 35-year-old truck driver, shot and killed himself on Jan. 16 with a shotgun as Lee County sheriff's deputies and two friends on the phone tried to talk him out of it. Barber, who had an honorable discharge from the Army, had served with the Ohio National Guard's 1485th Transportation Company. He spent part of 2003 in Iraq, returning home ahead of his unit, Army officials said, and later moved from Ohio to Alabam…

I filed NOD for 10% rating & lots of non s/c for my husband. We got letter today asking if we want to have a Decision Review Officer assigned or follow the traditional appeal process. hypertension Hypertension & Ptsd
Is there a connection between PTSD and hypertension? I was diagnosed by the VA with PTSD when I returned from OIF. I have been awarded 30% for this PTSD by the VA. I was also diagnosed with hypertension. I recently filed a claim with the VA for the hypertension. It was my understanding that if you are diagnosed with hypertension with in a year of discharge, then it would be considered service connected. The VA denied my claim last week, since there was no record of hypertension while I was on active duty. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get this service connected?

Turning Down Kenneth Carpenter Representation
Dear Fellow Veterans & Friends. I got a letter from Mr Carpenter today asking for me to sign release of information forms. In that letter he stated he has large case load and limited staff. It will take him 2 years to get my C file and review it. I dont want to take the 19 months going through BVA appeal process just for him to come in on the 18th month and want to file a new breif starting the process all over. I feel 16 years back pay with an admisson from the VA they did not obtain the key document that 22 years later showed I was SC all along. Im just not going to be put on hold for 2 years while he makes up his mind what my case is. Terry H…
