Why I Say- Continue To Fight Them At The Varo Level
(This is only a few positiona and their salaries- Also-if anyone is interested the 2006 VA Budget is found at : http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/fy2006/appendix.html Just click on the Department of Veterans Affairs. These federal employees are paid good money to do a job properly. I feel that the VARos- since they have the same legal and medical criteria as BVA and CAVC -should be pressured into doing their jobs right for you all. The reason for the backlog is due in part -in my opinion- to the fact that they continually have to re-do decisions which could have been properly prepared in the first place. I know Terry disagrees-and that is OK- …

ptsd Ptsd/depression
Hello Everyone... Where should I begin... new to the FORUM & here it goes! IN 2003 I went through a General Court Martial for 3 Offenses and was found not guilty! THe depression/PTSD started during the Investigation and continues to this day...the charges were Rape, Aggravated Assault & Drug Use. I am a combat vet who recently returned from Afghanistan. Upon my return, I began using drugs and alcohol to drown out some of my experiences I encountered in combat. I was Command Directed to provide a urinalysis and my sample was positive. I admitted to Drug use and believe it or not, received a HONORABLE discharge. THe 214 is coded for Drug Use and Misc…

New C&p Exams
oh boy, I spent some time with another quack, he kept getting me to try and say I had other strokes other than the TIA's and the "stroke" in 1992, I just gave him the ;etter my ex wife wrote about the Feb-April 1992 time period. I told him I still have memory problems, and no I didn't ever have any other stroke's after 1992. I gave him the Dr report that finally ordered the MRI in 1995 that showed the 3 inch infarction in my left parietal/occipital lobe and that it looked old. How they can tell a New one from an old one I don;t have a clue, but he kept trying to get me to say the stroke happened last year, go figure. I have a new heart exam on the 3rd at 430 I wonder wh…

Length Of Decision For Increased Disability
Has anyone had experience in the length of time it took them to receive a decision once their c-file reached the rating board at the RO in Waco, TX. This would be for an increase in disability not an initial request, Thanks!

Va's High Tech Going Nationwide!
We had a HUGE surprise today. My husband is one of few veterans in this area to be connected by a HealthBudddy machine for daily monitoring of all of his conditions. They don't monitor on weekends or holidays, but when they return on the following business day they check for the weekend/holiday reads. Carrie

Email Response From Varo
:D This is a first for me but has anyone ever received an email from their RO stating they received documents that were in relations to their claim and they are continuously working on it. I have put in numerous claims but this is the first time I have been contacted via email. Must be something new. It is nothing different than the computerized generated letter you receive by mail every so often because it clearly states you cannot reply to it. Just a way for them to cover their butts. Swan :)

Odd Info From My Varo Vet Rep
The DRO process is explained in M21-1 and there are certain steps to be taken by the DRO. I was a little surprised that my vet rep at the VARO level- so extremely supportive of my claims- did not contact me about the SSOC I got-so I just emailed him- The 800# said my POA had signed off on the SSOC last week.My vet rep is the chief POA I have there- he did not sign off on it and didnt even know I got it-or what it said--- looks like another violation of M21-1 DRO job descriptions and de novo review procedures. This is NOT how a DRO review works at all- He agreed- I am still in Relative Equipoise and should succeed under that specific criteria- and he is baffl…

Can A Hearing Be Requested While Processing A Claim
I was reading that a Veteran can request a personal hearing while the Claim is still being processed. Can a personal hearing be requested in a CUE claim as well? It seems that if I can get the hearing officer to answer the question, "where is it stated that the in-service diagnosis was in error, prior to the VARO Rating officer assuming an alternative diagnosis was the correct one, which denied service connection?" It would sure save a lot of time and effert on both sides of the issue and the CUE claim could be withdrawn so that in light of this information, the claim for compensation can be finally and properly be adjudicated for Service Connection. Or can it be that …
