Bilateral Pes Planus
HI AND MERRY CHRISTMAS! I have a rating from the VA for bilateral Pes Planus 10%. On my letter states: the evidence warrants an evaluation of 10% code 5276. An evaluation of 10 percent is granted whenever the weight-bearing line is over or medial to the greater to with inward bowing of the tendo achills, and paind deformation and pain on maninpulation and use of the feet. OK dose the warrant a rating for both feet at 21 percent? Dose this mean each foot is rated 10%? Please let me know. below is from 38CFR (a) The use of the terms “arms” and “legs” is not intended to distinguish between the arm, forearm and hand, or the thigh, leg, and foot, but relates …

ptsd Medal Replacement
Good morning, everyone. I'm thinking about sending in Form #180 to get replacement medals I was awarded in Viet Nam (but never got) and giving them to my grandson. My question is----will this delay my current claim (PTSD) in progress, in ANY way, shape, or form? Thanks. I was Army if that makes any difference.

Dependent Pay
Prior to 10/1978 a vet had to have a minimum of 50 % SC to recieve X-tra pay for dependents. After 10/1978 a public law reduced this requirement to 30 % SC. My 1st SC award had an ED of 6/1978 - SC'd at 40 %. I've been fighting the VA over 20 years to get the dependent pay due me during the late 70's thru the mid 1980's. I am the veteran and I am the biological mother of the child. I have date stamped copies of the 686's I sent in, Birth Certificate, also marriage license, divorce papers etc... Va has continuously denied me this $$ and always retalliated requesting more info. My daughter was illegitimate and was 3 years old when I entered active duty. Going …

Day Treatment Question
This past week has been a very difficult one for me, spent three days on the Psych ward for suicidal idealations and severe depression with mild psycotic symtoms. They tweaked my meds a bit and I am now back home with my critters, Cat and Dog that is. Boy were they happy to see me and I them. I'm glad I opted to give them both self feeders and had left plenty of water out for them. I never know what will happen, so at least, I didn't have to worry about them in my absence. The Dr's and Pyschiatrists want me to think about doing voluntary work at the VAMC to help get me out of the house and doing something constructive. I have some concerns with this type of progra…

What Is Presumption Of Service
I hope that some of you guys that are smarter than I am can help me understand this. I served in SWA. Retired from the army in August 2000. In Sep 03 I started having bowel problems. The doctor tried diet, exercise etc..... The problems grew worse over the next two years. In Mar 05 my doctor (a military doctor) listed objective findings of constant diaherra intermittent with constipation, bloating and cramps - diagnosis IBS. I submitted a claim to VA and asked for service connection based upon persumption due to my service in SWA since IBS is one of the presumptive diaseases. VA denied the claim stating that there was no objective findings in my SMR's during serv…

tdiu Request Help With Condensing Claim, Advice About Tdiu, Eed, Cue, Afu
Dear Vets, Thanks for being there. Plan to help others when I prove myself capable. Am in Oregon. PVA is POA. I been working on this for about 25 years now. Largely successful, ie, about 95 percent disabled all together, HNP is under Code 5293. Depression under "dysthimia". Got TDIU VA granted all back to 1993. Have spinal cord disease from injection of metrizamide inservice, 1980. Also the Military docs operated, 1980, 1981, on the wrong disc twice, admitted it in writing once. The right disc to date has never been operated upon, and according to VA in 1996, is inoperable due to the spinal cord disease arachnoiditis. The nerves in my cauda equina (spina…

Reserve Vs Active Duty
My daughter is in the Army at Fort Knox. She has been active for over a year, being trained in Radiology, now doing clinicals. She is thinking of sigining up for three years regular active because if she does not she can't get VA medical benifits. My question is that all the Reserve and National Guard troops that have at least one tour over seas, they are not entitled to VA health care benifits? If thats true it doesn't seem fair.
