1151 Or Compensation Claim?
A couple days ago I posted that I have gotten GERD from my meds associated with my SC arthritis condition. My question is whether I should file a 1151 claim for being prescribed too many Nsaids or file a claim for secondary condition due to meds from my SC arthritis. I would appreciate any output that I could get on this subject. Thanks to everyone for the help and one day I will be able to pass on the knowledge that I am receiving.

ptsd Ltr From Ro Ref. Ssoc
Today, I recieved a Supplemental Statement of the Case from my VA regional Office, indicating denial of a S/C for PTSD. They state that the USASCURR (United States Armed Services Center for Unit Records Research) has no evidence of the stressors. Eventhough, the RO states in it's SSOC that "although incidents that the veteran provided may be true, but they are not researchable". All the evidence I've submitted, ie. letters from military members that have knowledge of the incident, my VA Mental Hyg. Dr. confims Chronic PTSD condition, VA C&P Dr. also confirmed the PTSD condition (Chronic) during a C&P evaluation. What do I do? The RO has given me 60 days to rep…

ptsd Stressor Verified Or Not?
U. S. Army Centre for Unit Records Research was unable to provide information about this. To the extent that the veteran's story can be corroborated, it is corroborated. Further, the USAF Health Record shows the veteran was seen for psychiatric problems after he returned. For these reasons, service connection for PTSD is warranted. What do you all think considering the pending PTSD reviews? Mike S.

Appeals And New Claims
Why is it when you have appeals and new claims on file that they must work the appeals and the new claims completely together before closing out issues..Or do they have to do this . Varo says this is how the system works?[/

Cue
I was recently told by my contact in the Seattle RO (part of team 1?) to file a CUE based on the regulations broken in my wife's recent decision. When I posted the CUE(s) I had written to Hadit I was told that I could not file CUE until we had exhausted her appeals process, so I decided to hold off. Today, I spoke with my contact again and he clarified the process for me....he said not only could I file a CUE right now (just putting in for DRO as well), but both my DRO and CUE will be handled seperately (IE - I can appeal the CUE decision AND appeal the DRO decision if both turn out to be unfavorable). He also said that the CUE goes directly to the "coach of the appeal…

Operation Vs. Nexus
I have not been diagnosed with service connection for my back injury while in service. I have several (6) buddies that have written letters saying that they were with me through my recovery from the assault. I don't have a current diagnoses of Nexus to this back injury. I have re-opened the back claim from 1986 and further back with the BVA along with the other claims pending. Now, all of a sudden the VAMC wants to operated on my back. The only actual proof of Nexus are pictures through the years of my back deformation. There are pictures of years prior to service without the deformation. This seems a fishy to me. The BVA has not told me, as of yet, if my back cla…

Foia Re: Wannabees
He sent FOIAs to the NARA with any information he had to identity the veteran. I forget what topic this should be under- still getting used to the board - I think I can get a reversed order in posts? most recent first? going to try to do that today- I know 2 wannabees and might consider writing an FOIA to NARA like Burkett did- will let you know how that turns out- everytime I start to read this book (Stolen Valor) I get so angry I have never finished it.

ptsd Calculating For Tdiu
I am 50% SC for my hearing loss. I have 4 claims that have been C & P'ed recently and am hoping I can last long enough at the post office to see some security for my family - possibly OPM disability retirement-SSDI-TDIU route. If they were to low-ball me on PTSD at 30% (I've only had 2 GAF's, both 45 from different people) that would be 50 + 30 = 65, rounded to 70% check. Would that fulfill the 70% requirement? For the TDIU standard do they use a "real math" total (80%), a VA math total, or the amount of your compensation check? My other 3 are being grumbled about (knee, tinnitus, chronic otitis) and are probably all 10%'ers. By VA math they would ha…

Reasons For Rescinding Sah Entitlement?
The SAH entitlement is subject to review and can be rescinded. Does anyone know the reasons an entitlement might be rescinded? Of course, it stands to reason that a veteran with certain disabilities that improve so that the veteran no longer needs a wheelchair would warrant rescinding the entitlement. But are there other reasons?

Appeals
Being Terry didn't answer my question from the 17th, will post this to the group, as I really need a answer! How to you appeal to the BVA, what is the wording, as I have claims coming down, that will get turned down, at the local VARO, as just about all my in-service medical files are gone, and can't prove hardly any of my in-service injuries and/or illnesses. I will see your answer in a couple of days, as I have to go down to Iowa VA again tomorrow. for a check-up, but am back now.

Ms & Gulf War Vets (pacific Northwest)
FWD from MS Vets ................................ Date: Thu, 20 Oct 2005 06:09:44 -0000 Subject: [MSVETS] PVA Advocacy Hey everyone: I spoke with the NWPVA this afternoon. They have been hearing from PGW veterans with MS! Thank you! Today at their monthly meeting they officially passed a resolution that puts presumptive connection for PGW veterans with MS at the top of their effort list! They are now working with their national council. Our voices are being heard. Finally! They, too, are working to get the current numbers of PGW veterans with MS. Multiple Sclerosis falls under the umbrella of the PVA because of the spinal invol…

Calculate Your Gfr For Renal Health
If anyone needs to find out how severe their renal function is, try this link for the National Kidney Foundation's calculator for figuring the GFR. http://www.kidney.org/professionals/kdoqi/gfr_calculator.cfm NKF says, "GFR - glomerular filtration rate is the best test to measure your level of kidney function and determine your stage of kidney disease. Your doctor can calculate it from the results of your blood creatinine test, your age, race, gender and other factors. The earlier kidney disease is detected, the better the chance of slowing or stopping its progression." Carrie
