"authorization"
Contacted the VA by IRIS today to check what is going on with my claims. Was told that they are in the "authorization" stage. Does anyone know what this means, since the VA won't give up any info into what this means. Thank you, Bergie

Copd Service Connect
i have a question;I have copd, it appeares on my retirement physical as a loss in lung capacity,ie;.81% from the 100% that was on my enlistment physical, you know every one is perfect on entry to the military!!! . Ineffect I lost 19% of lung capacity during my 22year career. The retirement phy. was documented on a breathing test, but not mentioned on the outgoing physical paperwork because loss was not out of tolerance(below 80% it would have been mentioned)Eight years later Bingo the lung cap. is now out of tolerance. (i was a smoker at that time)the question is, will the injury be serviced connected because it started on active duty???what is your thinking?commentes ,advi…

Vbm
I have been so busy I forgot to post this recent statement at the NVLSP web site- I have used the VBM since 1991 and cannot imagine being here at hadit without it on my PC desk-it helped me win all of my claims. This is a great honor for NVLSP and most importantly- if you have the VBM you can use any citations from it regarding the legal nuances of VA case law and regulations.I havent read Holton yet but recently I quoted NVLSP's Nehmer decision to the OGC who then quoted Nehmer to the RO -in writing and for the first time in 8 months the VA began to apply Nehmer to my claim. The RO refused to acknowledge my numerous requests submissions of this important case asking…

hypertension Help With Reevaluation
I currently receive 30% disability. 20% for two knee operations and 10% for hypertension. I have been diagnosed with Lumbar Spondlyosis through the VA and I had cervical fusion for a herniated disk in my cervical spine on New Years Eve of this year. I had this surgery done in Myrtle Beach due to the fact that I could not drive, much less ride to Charleston which is 90 miles away. I was in two branches of the service. Air Force from 87-91 and Army from 94-2000. I had a hernia repair and was diagnosed with falling arches in the Air Force but I was never rated for any of those conditions, only rated for disabilities in the Army. I am lost and could use some help on what, if …

Va Lists Ships That Are
http://www.vawatchdog.org/10/nf10/nfjan10/nf012210-3.htm This is a biggy!!!!!!!!!But not big enough- Hopefully HR 2254 will pass and give all Blue Water Navys Equitable presumptions! All US AO advocates are waiting for passage of HR 2254 as although this sounds like GREAT NEWS, it is still going to leave out many vets who should be AO vets- It is my understanding from Congressman Filner and the Equity Act itself that the VSM would become re-established as proof of service that includes exposure to AO if the bill passes into law.

Eed Question
How would EED's work in this situation? I recently filed a claim to increase SC for a condition because my condition has deteriorated significantly over the past year. Could I request EED's relative to when I met requirements for a lower but increased rating a few months ago, and then a further increase when I met the requirements for a significantly higher rating about a month ago (which was also when I filed my claim). Thanks

C & P Exam Guidelines
I wasn't very well prepared for my last C&P. I dithered a lot and I think blathered a good bit and I'm thinking I wasn't as clear with my responses as I could have been. So for the next one coming up I've been reviewing the C&P exam outline for my body part in question. Per the advice given by so many of the kind souls here, I want to be prepared to give clear and direct responses, with no "... well, I can walk as far as the chicken coop & back, but I have to set a spell when I get back inside" answers - especially since I don't know exactly how many feet it is to the chicken coop. One thing I noticed about the exam guideline for feet: it doesn't include …
