Adjustment Disorder?
Hello all. I'm new here. Can someone tell me if Chronic Adjustment Disorder secondary to a diagnosed heart condition is compensible? I have researched this thoroughly, but I can't seem to get a straight answer. Some forums say it is, some say it isn't. I do know that it is in the VASRD. But would the VA pay to compensate for it? Thanks in advance.

Heart Surgery
Hello Gentlemen, I am rated 30% for my heart and 10% each for 3 other unrelated conditions. I have mitral valve prolapse which was diagnosed while on active duty. Upon my discharge I had zero problems getting rated. Recently I had surgery at a civilian hospital to repair my valve, all went well and I am doing fine. I get my meds through the VA, but I haven’t informed them of my surgery. Am I required to tell them. The surgery has repaired the leak, and stopped any further damage. However, my heart is still dilated, which should continue my 30% at a minimum, plus my ejection fraction has dropped from 63% to 50% per my echo reports. My doctor said this will n…

hypertension C&p Exam For Ischemic Heart Disease
I'm an old Viet Nam vet (67-68). I have filed for SC for IHD 3 times since 1995 and have been denied all 3 times. Back in December 2009 I filed again once IHD became presumptive to Agent Orange. I just received the results of my C&P exam for IHD. The diagnosis reads as follows: "For the claimant's claimed condition of Coronary Artery Disease, the diagnosis is Coronary Artery Disease and Hypertensive Heart Disease, S/P CABG (bypass surgery) with scar. The subjective factors are per history. The objective factors are ASA, CXR reveals previous median sternotomy for CABG, ECHO shows EF of 40% and Diastolic LV dysfunction." My past history includes 2 heart attack…

Tinnitus Not Cuased By Jet Noise
Just completed 20 years with USAF. Also just finished my initial C&P 2 weeks ago. Got the C&P notes today and found what I think is a problem. I've had annoying tinnitus for over a decade. It was first recorded in my SMRs 5 years ago, and was recorded in my SMRs 7 times after that prior to discharge. I believe that the tinnitus is a direct result of 16 years of flying Air Force jets coupled with being subjected to 7 inglorious months of rocket attack while on the ground in Iraq . Yet the C&P Audiologist opined that since to the hearing test he gave me came back essentially identical to my service entry hearing test (hurray I thought, one valuable facu…

hypertension Hypertension Leading To Cad And Cabg
With a 10% rating for hypertension, how hard is it to make a connection to CAD? Also I have had a six way bypass operation. They scheduled a C and P exam two weeks after the operation then cancelled it, but are still working on the new claim. Has anyone else had this happen?

Just Retired, Had Initial C&p- Pls Help With Question
Hi all. I've recently retired from the Air Force and have had my initial C&P. I got a copy of the C&P notes today. I'm concerned about some obvious errors that are listed as well as some ( I believe) incorrect diagnoses. I'll post some questions that I have for specific conditions separately, so as to not dilute the overriding question that I have. Question: Can I, or should I, send a letter to the VA correcting errors regarding what I told the C&P doctor verses what is in the C&P notes? Should I refer to my SMRs to show where the doctors C&P notes regarding my history are inconsistent with my SMRs? Should I pronto obtain …

Getting An Imo
I got denied after my c & p for sc. I am now working with a Phd working under supervision of an MD who used to do comp and pension exams to get an IMO. I gave them all my records, they did a 3 hour interview, want to do another. My new evidence will partially be a rating of disabled by the state voc rehab dept. My vet rep at state vet affairs office is having me go for a DRO hearing instead of appeal to BVA saying it will only take a max of 6 months instead of years. He says that in the event of a VA c & p denial but with an IMO saying there is a connection the tie automatically goes to the vet and the rater has to award me something. Is this accura…

Did Not Get 30% Rating
I was originally rated at 10% for a knee condition since 1993. I requested to be rerated in 8/09 due to the condion worsening and the fact that I now have problems with my left knee and two hips. I just received my determination letter which stated that they are rating me at 10% for stability issues and 10% miniscus issues, or a total of 20%. They stated that my left knee and hips were not service related. My complaint is that due to favoring my right knee, my left now has issues along with my hips. Anyone know how to get them to consider this and get my claim above 20%? Also, since I was first awarded 10% in 1993, it was never explained to me what other benefits …
