tdiu When Do I Apply For Tdiu
I've had 2 back surgeries in the last 30 days and a 3rd scheduled for May 11th. I start short term disability on May 11th as well. Can I apply for TDIU at that point? I have DDD and had to have a disc removed and 3 weeks later, the vertebra above the disc collapsed and pinched the nerves that control my legs. I now just found out that I'm leaking spinal fluid and it needs repaired. This is the May 11th surgery. I'm only rated at 50%, however, I applied for an increase after my first surgery. The VA doesn't know about the other 2 surgeries yet. Basically, I walk with more of a shuffle and have to deal with my legs giving out on me from time to time. It's extremely painful.…

tdiu Waiting For" Signing Off "on New Tdiu Arard
I have been told by my state VA Assistance officer that his computor shows that I have been awarded a new disabilty rating for lower lumbar and hip,AND ALSO TDIU. I have not received anything official in the mail.I called the 800 number and was told the same thing(I had been given the new ratings, plus TDIU.)He went on to state that my decision, decided by the DRO,had been sent back to the Regional Office to be signed off on and calculated for back benefits.Whats involved in this process? Is the signing off automatic?I am worried, since I have not gotten anything official in writing, that something will go wrong.I am certain that since the Veterans Assistance Rep and the 800…

tdiu Waiting For A Written Rating Decision
On March 12th,I received a notice regarding my appeal/review by a DRO.It stated that while they did not grant my claim for increase for my double knee(60%),they did award me an disability on new issues. They said a written notice of increase ,would follow, but did not state what was awarded.I went to my Regional Veterans Assistance Rep and he looked up on his computor and told me that I had been awarded a new rating for lower lumbar, hip,AND TDIU.As of today may 6,I have not received anything in writing as to this new rating .Today,I called the 800 number and they verified the award of back ,hip and TDIU.I am sweating this out, waiting for something in writing and hoping t…

tdiu Filling A New Claim After Tdiu And A Bva Case Also Coming Up ?
I was told today that my claim has been rated and is ready for signatures (I am still Hopeful!!!). Since I am 80% now without claiming all of my back issues and nerve dammage until the open claim for TDIU is finnished I am kind of hesitant to file for my back at a later date as not to upset the apple cart as it may be going in the right direction anyway? You got to stay positive if you can it helps me make it through the day. On my claim that is at the BVA what will the process or end result be once the claim is done with? How will it affect a TDIU claim where as "IF" I did get the IU what does it do do I have to come in for another whole set of C/P exams again? I hat…

tdiu Waiting On An Increase Decision
I got an appeal decision on March 12th,which stated that it left my knees at 60%(where they were rated),but that other issues that I raised had been granted>Nothing was specified.I went to the state veterans assistant rep,who pulled my case up on his system. He said it showed I had receicieved a new rating on two issues, and alsoTDIU,but I have not seen anything in writing officially. What to think- how long might it take.I would feel much better, once the official notice comes. Thanks

Asking For P/t After 100% Has Been Granted
Well My buddy got his 100% and he went off this morning and applied for P/T today at our local county Veterans office. Is it true that if he was just awarded IU based on his conditions and not rated P/T will they sometimes reduce his current 100%? Just a thought as tonight at our VA meeting it was brought up that some veterans had been reduced after asking for it? I know he is happy to have gotten it but after what was said at the meeting he called me since I was at the hospital with my Mother. I have a lot to do right now but I figured he has no computer so I would ask for any help on this? Have a good day..

diabetes Iu Mostly Approved For What Disabilities?
Just curious, I understand many things about IU, but wonder - are there are some 'major' conditions that IU seems to be more likely approved for? Diabetes, cardiology, lumbar, etc? Thanks, Cgup2009!

ptsd Tdiu And Ssa
I thought I had posted this earlier, but I can't find it. I served in the Navy for 7 years active and 8 years reserve. I filed my first claim in 2004 for a SC back injury and hearing loss. I had the prof I needed and was immediately given SC but rated 20% for my back and 0% for hearing. Not enough since I haven't worked since 2001, and am on SS. I filed an appeal in 2005, and just got the results back last week. They bumped me to 40% on my back, gave me 10% for rediculopathy, and held the 0% for hearing loss. I plan to push on with a claim already filed for knee pain and depression. I probably should file for tinnitus, and PTSD as well. My question is on my SS disabili…

tdiu Question On Effective Dates
hello, my buddy who applied a month before I did for TDIU got his first letter saying they had denied the claim I advised hi to reapply so he did and they granted him 100%. I thought hid effective date should be the day he applied for the TDIU now they say it will be January 2009. I know he applied in 2008 in september can they do this to him? I also wanted to know hat my claim for TDIU is in a resource board as it was identified as a case that had everything with it but it was lagging behind anyone heard of the resource board? I was kind of pissed that the same office would deny his claim accept a nod and approve the ratting which I am glad for him that they ruled on his…

tdiu How Do I File For P & T
Hi all, It's been a while since I corresponded here, but I have a question. I have had 3 seizures in the past 2 to 4 weeks, and I was actually hospitalized for a few days after my second seizure. The doctors believed that one of my (depression meds) was the cause. They took me off of it and started me on an anti-seizure medication. I have been TDIU effective June 2007 and I wanted to know if I should file for total and permanent. I can't drive and there are a few other things that I need help with. I have headaches, dizziness and nausea most of the time. I am still waiting on a Social Security Disability ALJ hearing. What should I do? Thanks, Cherie33

ptsd Another Tdiu Retro Question
I was granted 50% PTSD and 60% various Agent Orange related for a total of 80% in July of 2008 and paid retro to June 2007. I filed TDIU in July 2008 and was denied in October 2008. I filed a NOD and have retained an attorney due to numerous DAV screwups. I am thinking that my TDIU should have gone back to 07/2007. My attorney feels that I have a strong case for TDIU but feels that they may only go to July, 2008 when I filed for TDIU. Any thoughts?

tdiu Sc Ratings Support For Iu? Need Docs Help Too?
Cowgirl question of the day. Should I really go for mh doc's support for my unemployability claim if I 'feel' sc ratings are strong enough as is? After I got denied for iu, I reread and reread the reason why the va denied me. VA provider(psych counselor) didnt provide the opinion that I couldn't be employed. VA examiner opined sedentary work possible. The claim ignored my other mh shrink, didnt mention meds. Iu exam increased to 60%, for that I got ssdi. Then, I wrote a letter to the shrink(meds) requesting diagnosis support for my claim appeal. Doc just didnt get what I needed. So, here I go again, requesting in writing and in person my new counselor (very support…
