tdiu Waiting For Sign Off On Dro Tdiu Award
I received paperwork in March that stated that "while some of my claim had been awarded,my knees were left as is(60)%.I went to my Veterans Assistance state office and my rep look it up on his system and said I had been awarded TDIU,lower lumbar, both hips.He went on to say that the next step was for it to be calculated and signed off on.Now June 27th,I have not received anything official. The 800 number says awaiting signoff.I am worried that something might go wrong. Can the sign off or calculation people overrule the DRO and now deny the TDIU that the DRO awarded?.How likely, unlikely is this.I will be so relieved to get something official and partularly the increased be…

ptsd Iu When 2 Appy ?what Is Needed?
I have been unemployed for over 20+ yrs. after becoming SC disabled currently @ 60 %. Reason being, have had numerous MH problems, Chronic pain, depression, anixity, flashbks, insomnia, besides constant medication and substance abuse problems, secondary to SC injury.(traumatic Laceration of achilles tendon and nerves) when struck/attacked with a power- lawnmower from behind by another unknown active duty soldier, while in AIT. I spent almost 16 months in an army hosp. due to said injury, and subsequently was ret.(med. RET) @ the age of 19. I could'nt file for SS. or actually denied , as i did'nt have enough work credits. ptsd Not Sure What To Do With This - Tdiu Denial
The denial letter states: "The record shows you are a 61 years old. You have a reported education level of fours of college with a Masters Degree in Business Administration and last worked full time in June 2006 with XXXXXXXXXXX. There is no indication that you would be precluded from all types of employment due to your service connected disabilities. (I am 80% SC total, 50% PTSD the rest Agent Orange related) The sole fact that a claimant is unemployed or has difficulty obtaining employment is not enough to grant entitlement to individual unemployability. The question is whether the veteran is "Capable" of performing the physical and mental acts required by empl…

tdiu Computer Generated 60 Day Letter
Have received several of these spit out of the pc letters, however, none received this month. You know the ones, every 60 days, blah, blah...doing all we can to process you claim, etc. and so forth. I wonder, wonder, wonder if possibly since this months "letter" didn't arrive when scheduled, and DH's TDIU claim will be 60 days and counting on 6/23, if VARO is finally getting around to rating it. It's been there since 4/24/09 per IRIS and 1-800, filed the darn thing last October. Reluctantly we have had to keep the VSO on board as there is a pending decision at BVA also, the VA did set up a temp file for the TDIU. If I had enough energy to post what VSO sa…

tdiu Can I Apply For Tdiu
I just learned about TDIU. I want to know if I can apply for TDIU? I receive a federal disability retirement due to my knees,Social Security disability due to the knees, and VA compensation for the knees which are rated 20% service connected for each knee. If I am able to apply what forms do I need, items of proof, etc. Does a doctor need to sign anything? Would it be backdated to the date of my retirement?

ptsd Tdiu And Ssdi
I am currently in the waiting game with the VA over a claim for TDIU and in the process was awarded SSDI. I will soon get the award letter in the mail but will not receive payments until July. Would it be beneficial to submit the award letter as additional evidence to my claim. I do not yet know the merits on which I was awarded SSDI, if they were to base the award on something I am not service connected for would it make my claim look bad? I am 70% PTSD and I am trying to get Panic Disorder as a secondary claim, but that has not yet been approved, I'm concerned they approved SSDI on the Panic Disorder since my most recent notes made more mention of this diagnosis than an…

hypertension Medically Retired Twice
As of 5 June 09, I was medically retired from the Bureau of Prisons. This is actually the second time being medically retired. First, after 16 years of Army service and now only after 6 years of Bureau service. Can anyone give me the skinny on the IU or TDIU? None of my ratings are over 30%, but my major complaint was due to my knees. In August, I went through the painful event of knee replacement. About four weeks ago, I applied for my C-file, and I also in the process to file for the scar left by the surgery. 30% Left Knee 30% Exercise induced Asthma 20% Patellofermoral pain syndrome right knee 10% depressive disorder 10% degenerative joint disease, left knee 1…
