As for as snakes put ya some eggs out, the snake swallows the egg and usually gets trapped going into hard tight crevices and starves to death, I use a powder mix called Demon II you can get it at any farm & ranch store and I think Tractor Supplies has it its good stuff safe for pets and humans but it kills all insects roaches spiders 100's of different critters and I use it to spray the eves of the house and storage building to keep wasp from nesting there usually where you spray it leaves a toxin that insects /critters can't stand to smell safe and non staining. its good to put on bushes and vegetable garden if locust or bees try to eat. I spray around the foundation of my house and all windows its really good stuff. just be sure after you spray give it time to dry a little before ant kiddos go out to play its suppose to be safe for humans &pets. ......Buck

I could wrong but if it was me I'd call your RO and ask what the status is on your claim and tell the person you talk with you will hold until they find out. try not to let them say let us check on that and we will call you back...because usually they don't. jmo ..................Buck

Mountain vet I think you have an excellent chance getting rated for ptsd, with the stressor's you mention from your service in the middle east. now how high of a rating is anybody's guess dealing with the VA The social workers and even the Dr's ask if you ever tried to comment suicide or want to hurt others and if you said yes. Then that raises a RED flag so-to speak and they are concerned for your safety as well as others & to hopefully cut down on veterans suicide's! Contention/Conditions the Dr's state in there diagnoses, VA will rate your worse condition but take into consideration of the others which ever is evaluated the highest & from your stressors, and your condition as of now (what your service has caused you) means in my opinion you do have PTSD & for that you will be sent for a C&P exam. and then it will be sent to the Rater. You need evidence and you have that, you have your SMR's ,Buddie statements from your unit and ''Specialist Doctors'' in this field of medicine to state your condition favorable to you that was likely as not caused by your military service. usually a combat veteran don't need to prove his stressors but you will have to describe what happen. using the form 21-0781 its in the VA Web site in pdf just print a couple out & be sure to save all your copies of everything you send the VA. Its up to you if you feel you need to see a private Psychologist For a independent medical opinion ( IMO) but they are expensive...if it was me I'd go with what you mention and if you need an IMO then get it. You can look up your diagnose and see what it should be rated at if you have a Diagnosed Code the degree or level of your ptsd condition. here on hadit Now this would be totally up to you if you want to file a claim or not, as for as the fiduciary statement just check the box that says your competent to take care of your own finances. Some veterans have PTSD They are so bad they can't take care of there self let alone their finances. Not sure what your rated 20% for but this diagnose from what you mention looks pretty bad to me and possibly be rated at 100% but PTSD is a hard to get a high of a rated they turn over every stone and try to rate you lower than what you truly deserve...if you go ahead and file a claim and your either get denied or a low rating (we call it being low -balled) you can File a Notice of Disagreement (NOD) This only prolongs your claim but in the end you get what you deserve and you will have a early effective date......for more back pay when you win. Also when we read these post some times the post is taken out of context for what the poster was pertinent to, I'm sure chuck75 meant well for you, he is a long time elder hadit member and has helped a lot of veterans, I apologize if his post offended you. Anyone know if the last country you served in is the only country stated on your DD 214? or should they be all country's you served in but not the USA. Example, A Veteran finished basic training and goes on to his AIT school for his MOS, and then he gets orders for Germany & Spends about a year there and then gets deployed to Vietnam......spends over a year there, veteran has about 6 months left of Active Duty and President Nixon signs a order for early out called ''phase down release program'' (area of time 1969 thru 1975 I believe for the troops in VietNam.....but other country's may qualify? not sure on that? Veteran gets out with Honorable Discharge and on his DD-214 It only shows his time in service and only list his time spent in RVN. Is both country's supposed to be on his DD-214? if so how would he get this corrected? Thanks in Advance. .................................Buck

Boy that veteran above that was a USMC cook didn't want to give up after all he went through , they denied him each time and him not refiling his claim, everything seem to be well grounded with the exception of his evidence even when he submitted the NOD No matter if he had favorable evidence from Dr's and C&P Exams and even when a Dr stated it was likely this did happen from the veterans history . if the evidence is not there the veteran will be denied 99.9%..he had no records to prove his stressor's no matter what the Docs state! I'll see if this veteran will read that docket. If I can't get any thing on record about this event there's no way to prove it and he will be denied. Thanks Ms berta ..........................Buck

Ms berta, I found this site to find some units http://www.1stavnbde.com/companies_index.htm But I never found his unit on it? I think I found his unit? he had an Award Plaque from is unit it said this ''To SOLDIER Rank and Name Thanks for a Job Well Done, from the operations Branch Saigon Support Command SSC HHC TMP. This particular unit left Long Bihn in 72 and moved to Tan Son Nhut Until,the end. They were originally out of Saigon in 1965 and Moved to Long Binh in 1969 ................Buck

I Agree with everyone, he should already filed a claim. The VA Docs Won't tell a veteran about his benefits, maybe because this is a training hospital and the Drs don't think about it. but some VA Docs do. he should get some retro back too depends on when he gets a rating and how far back they go? but put his health above everything else & get checked out, that is most important. jmo ..................Buck

I had thought a veteran don't have to pay any co-pay if he is rated 30% above? But I ain't to sure ? it maybe 40% or 50% but it seems to me it was 30% a few years back or even lower? But if the VA screwed me up like that I'd file something against them like MALPRACTICE Suit. in this case I don't think it matters about being SC ......................Buck

This is a very similar case to what you mention. BUT Ms berta I don't think he was in special forces group like Rangers or Green Beret or other special force combat groups this was special operations Branch USRVN as in transportation. I had thought that too but its meaning is not that as we had thought. ( SORRY) I don't think he is lying about what happen he tears up when he talks about what he remembers, I guess because that was a child that was killed, if the event went untold and the veterans driving the buses are afraid to speak up & I think this is the case? maybe? This was a selective type mission called operations phase out or something like that I don't know exactly? ,According to this veteran , The higher up's sent out memos to most all the units stations within the area of Saigon and there were selected group to go to Saigon Port where the US Naval ships imported the brand new buses and they had to have drivers to take the buses back to Long Binh, it was for the troops leaving because at that time they were like about 300 or so troops leaving and more coming up so this was the fastest way to transport the troops to the air base to fly home. I ask him if he had any kinds of orders showing that he was pulled from his unit to go do this operation he said no...so Idk? As for as buddy statements he don't remember there real names and where they lived ect,,ect,, I think he mention one buddy that was from his home state, but without a name?just nicknames if his records don't have this event in them I will just tell him he has to go on the presumption of this event, he is paranoid and thinks the army will come after him after all these years for not reporting this. all I have to go on is what he said and this supposable happen in 71 How would I check about the new Buses being shipped in to Saigon Port? if we can prove that I think he has a good chance.for his claim...and no he has no claim but is diagnose with MDD this is his first claim and he has been out of the service since 1972. We got to talking one day and I ask him if he was getting comp he said no just never filed for it although VA diagnosed him. He uses the VA for his healthcare and that's all he has. so hence me trying to help him get his claim in and hopefully win. We Are waiting on his records at present. ...................Buck

broncovet, What I meant by ''Does the VA think the typical veteran is a Dr'' is understanding there language I mean some times you need a physician reference to decipher it all...and that is if you understand the physician reference! I been diagnosed with Duyptrens & Pernicious Anima . by the VA with VA Several Dr's.MD's and Specialist. The VA ''supposable'' fixed the Duyptrens with injections in Feb, I'll always have PA , I have to take B-12 injections the rest of my life. Well here recently I read where theses diseases/conditions are ratable,but getting them SC is next to impossible, so my question is if there ratable and Hereditary or from Smoking, Why did the VA Put them into Law in the CFR's??? I understand veterans need to get a disease/condition service connected before being compensated . No I don't have a claim in for these disease/condition it would be to hard to prove that happen while in service, the PA came up about 30 years ago, and the Duyptrens came up about 8 years ago, the Duyptrens just got so bad I could not use my right hand and I reported it to them about 4 years ago and back then it was not bad enough for the injections, it progress Over the next 4 years enough to less that 45% of ROM, The ROM limit is 35% mine was at 45% so that's when they did the injections. I still have some problems with my right hand but its better than it was, I have a stinging in it when I open my hand in full range it is just a minor annoyance is all...something I figure I can live with...and it left a scare. .......................Buck

What should I do if he don't have any records of the event he saw? convoy of 15 Buses running over a Vietnames civilian and nerver stop from Saigon to Long Binh....I'm sure it killed him? if it was not reported what then? he has flash backs and can't get it out of his mind. ....................Buck

Thanks stillhere, I know what you mean and yeah I have heard a lot of different war stories from Nam, I don 't let it bother me to much cause I don't like to talk about Nam, but this vet is a Nam vet with combat ..he just don't have any records from what unit he was in.... Were gathering them up I had him to write JSRRC 201...he may not need them.but be good for him to put in his c-file. .........................Buck

Gastone, you can ask your PCP to put in for you to be seen with a surgeon , I had it and they inject a special type of enzyme's (expensive 1000.00 per injection) in the cord or cords if there showing and you go back the next day and they break the cord, however the antistatic they give are quait painful the needle is long and they inject it in your wrist into your palm and then the inject the side letting the needle go all the way to the center it burns like crazy but only like 10 20 seconds then your whole hand goes numb so they can break the cords. it bleeds like crazy but they bandage it up and you wear a special made splint for 6 months. I had mine done in Feb but having some problems with it still have a stinging sensation. but it was worth it. I don't know know if that is ratable? also the pernicious anima, I had that a long time now being treated for it at the VA But not getting comp nor is it SC. ........................Buck

yes I got it to open. Yes Saigon is now called Ho Chi Minh city, All the bases are now gone and was given back to the Vietnamese not sure if the North got them or who? but Long Bien is now rebuilt & converted over to a shopping center, from what I read if you google it now its only from the past days of Vietnam when the troops were there, present day No US Bases are in VietNam Yes I remember Saigon and Bien Hoa, Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Bencat, Long THANH, That Area of Nam Don't think I'll ever forget. ................Buck

it was not a re- run but it did have clips in it about the phoenix scandal and clips when he talked to veterans ,they showed clips of it, this was a interview with scott pelley & scott said he was a failure getting the VA system back to being the nations number one health care, Bob Let him know that the media does have a hand in him trying to fix things in the VA & Bob said he was going to fixed that.
