  1. Congratulations. It pays to be persistant and never ever give up. You earned it buddy.
  2. Thanks jabasser. This one throwed me and I was concerend about it. They actually have 3 appointments schedualed on the same day and I suppose they are all tied together. What I don't understand is why they would be doing this as I have not mentioned this to my PCP which I have an appointment with on 10- 5 and the other appointments are on 10-7. Do you think I should mention this to the PCP
  3. I got a letter today from the va and they have scheduled me for 3 appoinments on the same day for MU-PAIN PROCEDURES of which I know nothing about or what the exams are for. I did recently file a claim for tdiu. Could this be associated with that and does anyone know what MU-PAIN- PROCEDURES are all about. I am lost on this one since I didn't know it was coming. I need help on this so I can prepare for the exams. Thanks.
  4. Thanks t&b you have eased my mind as I was concerned about this test. As they say worry is 90% of the battle. One other question, does peripheal nerve damage cause back and leg pain? That is what I have the most trouble with and its an everyday thing. Thanks for your help, I will sleep better tonight. Btw the exam is the 10th of Sept.
  5. T.B i am not sure what kind of test is is. I did hear them say it would take about 30 mins. to do. My Dr. is going to look at his notes and put them with the notes he already has. He is an ex- vietnam doctor so he knows the va system when it comes to having the proper evidence to support a claim. Btw thanks for your response.
  6. I am workin on a claim for tdiu and I understood that my private Dr. had schedualed an emg for evidence to support the claim. I have recently found out that an emg is not going to be done but an exam by the emg Dr. is to be performed. How much weight if any will this have on the claim as far as approvial is concerened without an emg? My private Dr. said he would write a letter to the va after the visit with the emg Dr. with the facts that were found. How much can the emg Dr. tell about my condition withou an emg being performed? My Dr. knows I can't work anymore and I haven't worked a day since September 2005. I may be answering my own question here as I don't think the va will give this much weight, however it will get me an emg from the va which is what I was trying to avoid. If there are any thoughts out there I would appreciate hearing about them.
  7. Congratulations. News like this just makes my day better.
  8. It helped me and was mentioned in my decision. Awhile latter my buddy filed for the same condition (diebetes) and i gave him a buddy statement and it worked for him and I think it will be a lot of help to your claim as it appears you have a good statement. Good luck.
  9. Thanks pete992. You are right, I was wrong on the form number. My wife informed me that my vso mailed that form to my former supervisor and filed out the other form for me. I do appreciate being corrected when I am wrong. You are helping me when you do. Thanks
  10. erico541. the form you need is 21-4192 and this is available on the computer. In item 13a say you can't work due to your service connected disabilities. You may want to get someone to help fill this out for you but be sure it says in item 13a service connected disibilities is the reason you can't work. I wish you the best of luck and you wish me the same as I filed my claim 4 weeks ago. Now we wait.
  11. And the quicker you file a nod the better off you will be. The va does this in the hope that you will give up. Don't give them the satisfaction of winning when you know you are right. Never give up fighting the va system.
  12. Larry, you can always pick people up when they are having a bad day. I do believe had you been on the Tiatanic when she went down you would have found some humor in it.
  13. I agree it does take longer to get to D.C. by tractor, but look at the exposure and the news stories he is generating across the country not to mention the votes he could be taking away from the politicians. One thing the gov. dosen't like is to be put in the spotlight in front of the public. I wish him well. Who knows, all of the veterans may benefit from this mans idea.
  14. dclayton57, look at your DD214 and see if you have the vsm medal. They have to accept that as proof of service in country. Also if you take insulin make sure they know as that is a higher rating.Good luck with your claim.
  15. Nice to know I am not the only one who has done that. Welcome to the house of making mistakes with meds.
  16. I got 20% for DMII and 10% for neuropathy in both lower extermities This does get worse over time and will never improve. I would suggest you ask for an increase in benifits if this is the case. You could also get an EMG by asking your private Dr. to schedual one for you. This also could be a big help. Good luck
  17. If it was me I would go ahead and go to the BVA hearing. You never know how they will rule so it may be to your advantage. If nothing has improved with your conditions then you won't be reduced from your current rating. I say go for it. If you can get a statement on paper from your employer that your anger managment is causing problems on the job, that would be a big help.
  18. Elliottme2, just because it didn,t work the first time, you don't give up. A lot of us failed the first time. That is the way the va works, unless you have some undisputible evendence that they can't get around. Appeals do take awhile but they can be won. The va is not an easy system navigate thru and we all need all the help we can get. I wish you the best of luck, just don't give up.
  19. And the va says its medical system is second to none, sure as hell don't sound like it. I wish you the best of luck.
  20. Good for you. Every mile marker gets you closer to home Good luck and thanks for your service to our great nation.
  21. Mom24, It maybe a good idea for you to write some notes about what you need in the letter in order for this to get approved by the va. If the Dr. agrees to put your notes in the letter and it has ro be there to succed, then you are home free with claim. Good luck and Pete53 told you exactly what to do
  22. They have lost them or they could be just putting yout claim off unti the fiscal year starts on Oct, 1. You can get your records from the national personnel records center in St.Louis and you can do this on the computer. It takes a few weeks but you could be surprised at the info they contain. I wish you the best of luck and thanks for your service. A veteran never gives up.
  23. I to have dibeties II, and yes it dose affect our whole body over a period of time. So if you have a good Dr. they would inform you of this and restrict your activities. I was awarded 40% on my frist claim for dietbetes but he never told me about restricted activieties. I have had some low suger episodes and they are frigtening, especially if you are are along. You become confused and disorented. I keep orange juice in the fridge just to take care of this. Remember, they can always get your sugar down but its hard to get back up. Watch your activties and check your blood sugar while being active as it can drop like a rock in less than 5 minutes.
  24. Pete53, you and a lot of others on this site have a lot of knowledge about the va system and have helped a lot of veterans, Including me. I can't thank you all enough and I can never repay you. My hardrive (brain) just dosen't work the waw it used to. You will never know how many vets and their familes you have helped. Thanks and keep it up. Larry
  25. I agree sharon, anyone who helps a vet is #1 in my book.
