  1. Wow - I'm sorry for all the stress this is causing you and I think you should prioritize your TBI exam and any other medical issues. Ensure everything is documented and press to get physical copies of it all now and get copies placed with mama or a trusted person elsewhere.

Understand that, for you, The Mission has changed; it is no longer to serve the military - you need to secure your future for you and your family. No one else will do it. And the VA doesn't give a damn about you or will act like they don't so don't expect them to be any help.

This means that all of the medical appointments etc necessary to accomplish YOUR objectives take priority over what your bosses may say is "The Mission".

You might not tell them you have a new Mission but act like it - The Man has gotten what He wants out of you and now will cast you aside like an old whore. If you and your wife feel like you deserve better than this, it needs to be the fight of your life.

I've been out for decades so hopefully others with current and specific advice will chime in.

You CAN win and we are here for you - good luck!

  2. Many of us also find out the hard way that changing your address at "The VA" (hospital) does not change it in DEERS or with the VA disability process.

There may be even more places to check but be sure at least those two are separately contacted and verified for address changes.

You can verify DEERS info thru ebenefits.

  3. US Attorney declines prosecution of former VA executives who otained more than $400,000 in questionable moving expenses through a relocation program. They also forced lower-ranking regional managers to accept job transfers against their will. Rubens and Graves then stepped into the vacant positions themselves, keeping their pay while reducing their responsibilities.

  4. 'Sergeant Bee requires regular treatment and medication, but only gets an appointment every nine months.'

"Dan Caldwell, CVA's Legislative and Political Director, told Daily Mail Online: ‘The bureaucracy (at the VA) is out of control, and it is starting to resemble a quasi-criminal organisation like the Mafia."

  5. There's far too much 'creative writing' in our medical and claims files and, regardless of How you choose to do it, I agree that it's best to take action in writing to get it corrected.

They seem to hate Secure Messaging so I Love it  for the paper trail. I would copy any messages from there to another medium (print out if needed) so as not to have to rely on them being there later.

It's good to hold their feet to the fire but, like USMC_VET said, start out cordial then increase the flame as needed.

If you do change docs, it might be good to float to them, "I love MyHealtheVet too - I can look at my lab results and all the notes after every visit."

Subtle way of saying, 'WE ARE WATCHING YOU.'

Good luck in your claims!
