  8. Well I went with my ex boss to his DRO hearing. The hearing was set for 10 oclock but he had to meet with his VSO at 9 oclock. We meet with his VSO at about 915 we were running late due to the long drive. This man was from the VFW and was one of the most preperd VSO I had ever seen. He went over the case asked about 10 questions then called the DRO up to tell her I would be in the room. The DRO swore us both in then the VSO took over. He asked my friend a lot of questions asked me about 5 questions. The DRO was very calm laid back and very polite. The VSO got in the record about his 123 missions in Vietnam to include his 100 missions over North Vietnam in a F4. I was inpressed I have known this man for 5 years and did not know any of that. He had never spoken about it. When we got ready to leave the VSO stated for the record that he was retired from the VA after 25 years 20 as a rater and 5 as a DRO. He stated that my boss meet all of the requirments for a IU and it schould be granted. We both left there feeling good about the case. He stoped us in the hall and told us it looked real good. I will keep you all informned when not if but when he wins. jim

  14. All its not Just OEF/OIF Vets going to the front of the line its any vet who got out after October 2001. It is global war on terriosm vets no matter where they serverd going to the head of the line. At my last DRO hearing the young DRO brought up the fact the I was A GWOT vet and she would try to work my claim fast. Well August will be 5 years I been fighting the VA so I beleive it all show and no go. I do beleive new VETS get there first rateing quick low ball or denial then get in line with the rest of us Jim
  15. SFC Trucker been there brother came back from a deployment to hondo in the 90s house empty bank account empty bills not paid 3 weks later trailer i was living in burned down no insureance homeless but at least I still had a job. You need to see a lawyer ASAP . Do you have any children? How long were you marriead for? Get yourself knowledgable on the UFSPA ASAP. Here is a good website www.divorcesource.com All about child support and almonany. If you can get to the base clothing store AFFES sells a good book called military and divorce. You need to try and get divorced ASAP before your VA money kicks in. Judges are not suppose to count that is income but they due. I been thru this two times while in the AF. PM me in you need anything. Jim

  17. Jim congrats good to see a fellow flyboy win one or two. But Carlie And just so I get my 10 % from your award please fill out VA Form 21-paycarlie, in triplicate. Had a good laugh on that one. My standard fee is one 1/5 bottle of Jim Beam for every 10 percent you go out. But then you have to drink it with me lol Jim
  18. Pigdrive Just one question when did you get out of the service. Anybody discharged after October 01 gets 5 years with no copays if it might be service connected Jim
  19. I know I am 10 percent also that is the highest the VA will pay if its one ear or two. I got lucky on my claim I had put in for high frequencey hearing loss and the examiner (from qtc can you beleive it) asked about ringing in my years I said yes the VA rated me on the ringing in my ears without even asking for it. They don't care weither its one ear or two 25 times a day or 2 times per week it still only 10 percent. Jim
  20. carlie you are 100 percent right i thought the other vet had a va loan. Pete I was looking to cash out about 10,000 to pay off all my other bills. The Lender would do it again like carlie says depends on your credit score and how much your home is worth compared to how much you are borrowing. Also I would check my credit reports you can check all three for Free here at https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp, If you want to knew your score they will charge you. But if you just want to see if there are any mistakes it free. I Highly suggest every vet check there credit score once per year Jim
  21. Windy I looked into it. But I am at 6 percent right now and I could not afford the payments If I went to a 15 year loan. AS long as you are not cashing out anymore its a steamline loan and preety cheap as far as fees go. The VA is now charging 3.3 points to fund the loan but since you are a disabled vet you pay NO FUNDING FEE. Check around its a good deal if you are plaining i staying in your home. Most fees can be rolled into the loan. As long as you are not cashing any money out it is kind of cheap Jim
  22. Boats Did roanoke finally take care of you? Are you 100 pecent P+T now? Jim
