Founder Tbird Posted July 23, 2010 Founder Share Posted July 23, 2010 Great news! We have a great community here, I brag about you folks all the time to my family. I am glad to hear of award, I do tend to agree with Berta and it does seem TDIU would be inferred, so you may want to do the TDIU form.
e4766
IU Great news=I am surprised the VA didn't infer I and send him the TDIU form. Berta, the weird thing is, they sent a form 28-1900 for rehab. How do they think he can be rehabilitated? I'm trying to understand the difference between TDIU and IU. Probably not looking at it right. Sometimes the cogs turn slow. Carolyn
Gardener
Congrats on your award! TDIU and IU are one and the same. TDIU stands for "total disability individual unemployability. IU is the "individual unemployability. They are the same thing due to the pay rate of 100%. Say your husband is 90% (and applies for IU and awarded such) then he would still be 90% but payed at the 100% (total portion here) due to not being able to work. Again, congrats and enjoy the hard earned benefits. Gardener
HadIt.com Elder jbasser Posted July 24, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted July 24, 2010 Great job. The IU can be inferred but the VA insist on having the form. Keep us posted on the final outcome. Enjoy the current success. John
