Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act Requests are now being handled at a centralized location. I have forwarded your request as well as this address update...

also they will call you and send you a letter asking if you want your records in hard copy paper or on a CD.

to lesten the time frame from now on put your answer to this in your FOIA request.

I did a request at Atlanta RO a few months back. It took about a month and I got it on CD. I hate to hear this change. Its sounds like another way to slow things down, unless they give us the information, so we can send it to the centralized location.

Kinda of crazy question here.

If they put your c-file on CD do they make extra copies and put on CD in your c-file at RO? or do they keep the papers?

Be good if they just had a CD in your c-file be hard for them to add to or take away as in missing copies!

Little off topic here but if some veterans don't know.

you can go to your VAMC & request a CD copy of your X-Rays or MRI's on CD there's a small fee like 3.00 for each CD however they can usually put most copies on one CD.

I heard everything is going to be filed electronically in the near future?

Buck!
