PTSD C&P Over

Got through my C&P today( Sat)  1-23-16  about 75 minutes

Took a little over an hour   things went fairly well, the Physiatrist /examiner was nice  and after all the questions she said'' well that's it I need to type in some information in the computer, ect,,ect,,.....so Maybe I'll at least get it SC? not sure on the rating ? she didn't go over that many symptoms  she said she read  a lot of my records  the night before  and she has my stressors and my symptoms and I did mention I was on a cpap  machine  ordered through my MH Dr  But it was after I filed my claim...she type that in to the computer  but I don't know what she said about it?

she said ... I need to download that in ebenefits or go to my VA  ROI and have them to record  my c-pap dx  she did say it is probably already in my VA Notes.....so that should be ok...I gave her a letter my son wrote on my behalf  she read it and ask me to get that in my VA Records   she couldn'r do it   I had to do it  so she read the letter and gave it back to me.

that was the extent of my exam...if I had to guess right now I think it will get SC  and maybe a 10% rating  anything more than that I will be surprised..

Now it's waiting time  not sure how to get the exam results back?  being this was done fee base from the VA  to QTC

Thanks Everyone for supporting me  I appreciate it

Question

That C&P doc read a letter my son sent with me but said she could not put it into my records and mention to me to take it to my VAMC ROI Dept ask them to record it into my medical records  or if I had my healthyvet to down load in into ebenefits...should I copy and past it and then download it into my ebenefits? and what part of benefits do I do this in? show as evidence to my claim? or should I just save this letter incase I need it for Appeal? as new and material evidence?

I don't think she wrote any of it down but she might  say she read the letter at my exam?

IDK?

Buck,
Glad to hear your exam in out of the way.

Regarding the buddy letter, I recommend submitting it both to the VAMC ROI and via ebenefits. I have never uploaded anything to ebenefits, but I know others here have.

Without the ability to see the C&P results, I am not sure if doc would have noted the fact they declined to accept it at time of the appointment. It is odd that some docs will accept additional documentation and others will not. Even I have had some accept and others reject. The only concern is that if you are denied, then would the VA not consider the letter as N&M because it is lay evidence. Others know more about the details of N&M than I do.

Oh  sorry bout that broncovet  I meant the 5th or close to,I will pm you my phone No,one is wife cell and the other is here at the house.

Thanks Vync

I didn't know they won't accept N&M evidence if its a lay statement  if denied,

I certainly could be denied or low balled it was hard to read that examiner,  she didn't really say one way or the other about  the exam or her thoughts ...her favorable thoughts..Lol

I will take to the VAMC tomorrow.

Thanks Again Buddy

Vync

I think the raters check to see if the veteran has anymore evidence he sent in  the day  they rate & make the decision down to the hour   and once a decision is made that's it ..until Appeal time if needed...I think?

jmo

Another question  the VA sleep clinic Had me to return the ''sims card'' in my C-PAP machine  after 40 days of use, I took it  to them on the 19th  and there's nothing noted in myhealthyvet notes? should there be?

Thanks

Hey Buck,
When I go to the VAMC neurology/sleep clinic, they always ask this. They simply pop it in and download the content from it. They should have given it back. The results are not stored in a format that can be viewed in myhealthevet, but sometimes the doc might write a progress note on it. Best bet is to go to the release of information office at your VAMC and request it. Some VAMC's might be able to print them on the spot or send you directly to the neuro/sleep clinic to pick up a printout.

As info, when I got my CPAP machine (from a private doc), it came with a cellular antenna that worked for six months. Instead of needing to drive to the sleep clinic, it did it all automatically. However, after that time they said I could pay a "small monthly fee" - no thanks. After taking the entire unit, hoses, and mask to my VAMC, they said they issue the exact same unit to veterans. They then put in a referral to get me replacement hose, filter, and mask. Not sure if this helps, but for folks who can't make it to the VAMC to have their card downloaded, the cellular antenna might be an option to make things more convenient.
