Question about MD and 100% P&T

Rate this question

Question

I was talking with the RO in Roanoke, VA today about the status of my BVA appeal which was granted and when will they finish what I am calling the second half (the ratings). He was looking in the system and unofficially (Until I have something in writing from the VA) I will be 100%. Now I thought it would be 100% P&T but he said no because of the MD, that would be re-evaluated somewhere down the road.

My question is he wrong? Because I have MD I am not considered 100% P&T but just simply 100%. Needless to say I want P&T so I get the additional perks, educational benefits, property tax discounts, etc.

Needless to say him telling me this really burst my bubble, I wanted the additional benefits not just the 100%.

Thanks

don't wait for the official notification.

I looked at the letters and they don't show 100% yet so I am assuming it won;t show until it does. I spoke with the VA in Roanoke Virginia about my appeal and he said they have not started working on it yet but with the SA it will put me at 100%. I know I need a medical exam for my hypertension so they can assign a rating for it.

I know I am jumping the gun with the unofficial rating but I know what it will be, I just need the official rating is all. I know the retro pay will be later which I can wait for.

while that solipisim is true, like my saying "time takes time", I wouldn't assume that it won't show up until you get the BBE.

I am not suggesting you become obsessive about checking the letters on Ebennies but I would not dismiss that the Commissary Letter shows up well before any "official" notification.

I get it you have another income, a life, pains, etc. to occupy your day, and I certainly cannot tell you what to do. I just don't care for the enormous and unnecessary delays the VA can sometimes create.

I know you are dealing w/ a proposal to reduce on some of your issues, but if I remember correctly the SA rating will still put you at 100% even with the proposed reduction. Which is good and I think you said that with that you "should be" or "expect to be" P&T so your MH claim won't deny that status.

Either way, we are rooting for you to get some answers as soon as possible. the extra stress is damaging.

The BVA granted it and I am on a CPAP machine (its documented in my paperwork), so not officially otherwise I would be at 100%.

I am on eBenefits daily, just to check. After all it only takes a few minutes and I have breaks in my work schedule to check. I will also call the 800 once a week to see what they tell me.

I always appreciate the encouragement for as we all know we can use it as we wade through the VA swap.

Thanks again Geeky
