New Claim Appeared Automatically

Question

I logged into my VA.gov account today and noticed it said there was a claim for compensation started. I never filed a claim on my end. I’m not sure if it’s just coincidence, but there’s a few things that strike me.

The claim is dated for today(June 30th, 2020). My last claim was July 1st, 2015 which was a re-evaluation. I was called for a C&P exam back then, can’t remember if it was before or after this date.

So it’s been almost 5 years exactly, do you think this was automatically triggered by the VA to do a re-evaluation of my current status? I honestly can’t think of anything else it could be.

One last thing, I submitted my taxes this morning also. I’m currently rated at 80%, but getting paid for TDIU. On my taxes, the only income there was to report was around 2k in hobby income, in which my expenses almost matched(few hundred dollars shy, I believe).

I know I shouldn’t be as worried as I am, but the paranoia in me says that they saw this tiny bit of earned income and requested a re-eval. I can’t say for sure, the status of my generated claim says they’re still adding details and to check back.

Any ideas or info on the matter is appreciated 🙂

The only thing is  since the covid-19 the VA Healthcare as taken a back seat to the healthcare of many veterans.

Example  I need to see the urology Clinic  I had an appointment made for like 7 months out  and waited for this appointment  well due to the corona-virus they have canceled this appointment. For July 17 2020

I called my VA PCP she informed me that the VA was not seeing any veterans during this corona-virus  and if I had an emergency  and pain and it could not wait or stand the pain for me to go to the E.R. But she caution me about the Bill if the E.R. SAYS IT WAS NOT AN EMERGENCY  I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BILL

I Been doing the VVC with my VA Dr's from Feb of this year and have only went  physically to the VAMC to the lab to have blood work done and pee in a cup.....after that is when I had the VVC  appointments and I have these VVC with my MH Dr's  but something is wrong with my private parts and I need it check out but not in any pain..its a stand off I guess?

May I ask what your position is with the VA?

Are you a Rookie Rater?

I don't think you been with the VA that long have you? I mean I knew you talked about going to work in some of your past post here at hadit and was waiting to be hired on..I just didn't realize it was with the VA.

But I wish you well with this job and we all certainly Thank you for all your information and advise , it is certainly appreciated by All us here at Hadit.

I received a call today from a medical office on behalf of the my regional VA. I missed the call, but they left a voicemail. In the message, it said they wanted to schedule an examination....so here we go, I guess. Also checked va.gov today, claim is indeed either a 5-year review, or was filed by my rep organization. Regardless, it already shows it in the evidence gathering phase, which is where it will probably stay until I do this C&P exam. I can feel the nerves starting to slowly flood in...in the voicemail, it said that this facility provided video conferencing also. Gave me two separate numbers, the other being if I preferred a face to face encounter. I’ve never liked the video call thing, makes me paranoid. I feel like if I get tricked into saying the wrong thing(which is not unheard of), they could use this recording against me, etc. not sure how I want to move forward..

MarineLCpl  Are you married? You can try to have your wife there with you.; they might allow. If the do, that could help settle things a little for you. Be honest and polite. Be sure you tell them how stressed out you are about the interview. Don't blow it off, or the probably wii reduce you. You can do this. Good luck.

I can empathize with that, but there has to be a record the exam- at least if its recorded its subject to discovery later. Its not like VA is just going to take a veterans word for it that they are disabled and hand out money. There do have to be controls. Its not any different than SSA, other than its a whole lot easier to get based on the standards applied vs SSA.
