Retroactive benefits question!
Recent discharge upgrade in 2019 by "ABCMR" stated that if reasons for bad discharge that I received then in 1972 were known today I would have been given or received a medical discharge instead of an OTH. Is there any retroactive benefits that I should or could recoup? Current PTSD diagnosed and receiving benefits! Vietnam Vet! Combat engr. 1968/1972 Any advice greatly appr!

Hypothyroidism and Sleep Apnea Denied
Last entry I had submitted claim for AO SC Hypothyroidism with Sleep Apnea 2nd, and COPD 2nd. All were denied because Hypo was caused by Hyper (Graves Disease) treatment. Saw no bases for DNA. 8-16-23 Filed claim for Hyper with evidence of studies at Buffalo University on over 200K Vets that showed AO exposed developed Graves Disease at 3X the rate of unexposed. Claims check showed all claims referencing that study were approved. Claim was closed within 4 hours and said letter was sent. Only letter I've received was on 8-24 which stated they had reached out to the doctors I listed for treatment. Can't find any letter stating it was denied. If it was closed on th…

Service Connected Asthma
I have been diagnosed with asthma. I’ve been out of the military for 30 years. While serving on active duty I had persistent colds all the time and was told by my medical officer to just take over the counter meds because there was not much they could do. I was even told to use an otc inhaler when I complained of shortness of breath. So I don’t think anything was ever documented in my health records so now I’m having trouble proving service connection because I did what they told me. So my question is how do I prove something that I treated over the counter for years while on active duty?

Re-opening a claim after more than one year when it was denied.
I am in the process of opening several claims that were denied more than one year ago and I never appealed the denials. What would be the process that I need to follow in order to re-open the claims. Thank you.

Knee question
I’m service connected for my left knee and had ACL/meniscus repair before I got out on 2005. In 2009 I got 10% for the surgery and 10% for scars. I filed for an increase and for the right knee pain as well. Had my C&P on the 23rd and had some limited ROM and x-rays done. Today my examiner called me and said I have arthritis in both knees. And a bone spur on my left foot. My question is does the fact that I have a service connected left knee, and now have pain/arthritis with limited ROM, get me the service connection? Just trying to see what hurdles I have to overcome to get it as a bilateral issue for knees.

Sleep study while on orders
I am currently a drilling reservist. I want to get a sleep study. My flight doc said I can get that done at a civilian facility and he will put the results in my military medical record. Is that correct? I’ve heard a few people say you have to be on active duty orders for a period of 30 days or more in order to get anything new put in your military medical records. Does anyone know the definitive answer on this? I just want to know if I have to request to be put on orders for this and if so do these orders need to be 30 days or more or if I can just do a couple weeks.

Hadit donations are now tax deductable
In Feb. 2023, hadit became a 501 C (3) organazation, according to the new owner, which we call "Rattler". This means both individuals and companies can contribute to hadit and tax deduct those funds. This will be important to ensure that Veterans, years from now, can continue to get great advice on hadit. This is a very big deal for some even tho many/most of the disabled Vets on here "dont earn enough" to worry about taxes. Its not about "me" its about the TEAM. There is no "I" in TEAM. For details, please consult with your tax advisor or IRS: https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/charitable-organizations/exemption-requirements-501c3-organizat…

QTC exam missing images
So I just had an appointment for some orthopedic stuff (shoulders/Knee/back) and had mailed in the MRI/X-ray imagine disk prior to this sometime last month. I confirmed with VA they received it and it was uploaded. During the exam I was told my x-rays/MRIs were not uploaded in their system. Sooooo….what happens now? They still did the exam, but only had paper records that I uploaded when I stated the claim.

Any of you Veterans file a claim for ''Dupuytren’s Contracture''
I have read that one of the occupational causes is the use of vibrating machinery. I was an M60 gunner, but it was quite a few years after I got out that I started having symptoms.
