How Long Am I Entitled to SMC (S-1)
I'm currently at 60% rating for both knees. I filed for 100% in 2015 because I knew that both knees would have to be replaced soon. It was denied, so I'm currently appealing. I just recently had my first total knee replacement and filed a new claim for 100% and was awarded SMC(S-1) at 100%. How long am I entitled to this? What happens to the current 60% regular disability rating? What about the appeal that I filed, how is that going to affect this recent activity? I really appreciate your feedback in advance. Thanks!

ptsd Diagnosed housebound in 2008 by VA; is med diagnosis binding?
Hi everyone! I started going to VA in 2008. I just discovered in my medical file that psychiatrist resident, as well as the head psychiatrist approved her diagnosis that I am housebound. That's 2 doctors. Then, over the next 2 years or so, many details in med record support housebound. Sep 09, filed disability. 50% granted. (ptsd, depression, cannabis dependence) Approx. May 2015, filed for increase. 100% granted, same as above. I filed NOD. My question regards this newly discovered evidence of record that shows since 2008, i was diagnosed housebound. I also have current evidence of housebound, it's no mystery around here that I don't go anywhere…

ptsd SMC (S) Overlooked
I have been wrestling with the idea of applying for SMC (S) because I am 100% P&T PTSD, SSDI, and I don't work. I sent an IRIS message like 1 a.m. this morning. I don't have a copy of the message I sent but based off of my research I told them that they overlooked SMC (S) back to my new 100% rating in 2014 based off the fact that I can't work because of my disability. This is the response I received hours later. I don't think they even understand what I ask for....What should I do.... Page 7 of my award packet only talks about if I disagree with their decision but they never mentioned SMC (S). …

degenerative arthritis Not Rated Permanent, can I still qualify for SMC?
...Or is this another way they would benefit from holding off on making me permanent, besides what my kids aren't getting in College? It seems like I should qualify but, since I reached 100% "naturally", I don't have a TDIU ruling either. Here are my ratings, do you think they are shortchanging me? I almost never leave my house, either, btw. Thanks, SMC is very confusing to me. 70% post-traumatic stress disorder (also claimed as adjustment disorder) 50% obstructive sleep apnea 50% sinusitis (claimed as chronic pansinusitis) 30% headache syndrome to include occipital neuralgia (claimed as migraine headaches and occipital nerve impingement) 2…

ptsd Hope I'm Not Jinxing myself and still with Questions
So I hope I am not JINXING myself. I have received notice from the DAV and also unofficially from ebenefits that a combined evaluation of S has been assigned as a result of the following actions: and it goes on to list at least 10 different actions. Some don't apply at this time and some just restate decisions that were already in place or made in the past. such as the rating of 60% for Asthma. And the denial for COPD, restrictive lung disease, anxiety disorder and idiopathic hypersomnia. It states the effective date which I feel is wrong but I wont NOD it since I currently have a NOD in for an effective date that goes back to 1984. I also am not going to contest or…
