I Wiil Try This One More Time
I haven't had much to do with the VA for 30 years. I never thought I would need to be looking at a rating increase. Here goes: I was sent to a medical board in 1978 after 6 years of service in the Air Force. I had crushed my ankle and had 3 surgeries while on active duty to repair it. Left the AF with 20% rating at the VA and went on with my life. Today, I am much much older (59) and the old bones have decided it was time for them to give me grief. My ankle is full of arthritis and I also have a mal-union of the tibia and fibia as a result of the original facture. Hard to believe I have had this all these years and only now is it keeping me from walking too far…

About Requesting Your C-file (claims File).
Bare in mind, Your C-File will ONLY have those records that have been ASSOCIATED with your PRIOR claims, and will not necessarily have current, up-to-date Service OR VA medical treatment records AND, also remember, there is NOT just ONE place that your records MAY BE located, NOT just TWO places your records MAY BE located, BUT THREE PLACES your records MAY BE located, and this does NOT include the simple fact that, according to WHERE your current claim is, in the processing procedures, your CURRENT claim may be either located at your VA REGIONAL OFFICE, or the AMC, or the BVA..........and this does NOT necessarily include your current C&P (Claims & Pension) exami…

Thoughts On Obtaining Service Records..............
There can be as many as 4 or 5 DIFFERENT locations where you MIGHT find your Service Records and your Service Medical Treatment records. For example there are not one but TWO different locations in St. Louis, MO, the NARA military personnel records AND the VA records center, two totally different records centers. Download Standard Form 180 (SF-180), either from the VA.gov website, or from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). You will need to use this form when requesting records, whether from the NARA or the VA or the branch of the military in which you served. This form SF-180 is a three page form, one page of which you fill out, the other two pag…

dear readers, if someone could help clear a question I would appreciate the help. after I was awarded 80%sc I was sent ot Voc Rehab. they paid my books and tution and also gave me monthly living allowance. a few yrs ago I was re-evaled and now receive 100% so my dependants no qualify. if my wife enrolls do they pay books and tuition and also a living allowance? on their website that keep refering to a monthly payment of $925. so does that mean she gets $925 a month and uses that to pay books and tuition and that is it? or is the $925 the monthly living expense and they pay the tuition and books on top of that? thanks for any response ssgtdotcom
