tinnitus Possible Claims Scam?
From: Veteranprograms@aol.com Date: Sat, 10 Nov 2007 10:38:14 EST Subject: Service-Connected Compensation To: lvtv@earthlink.net Dear Client: <<http://www.veteranprograms.com>> If you haven't started a claim for your GUARANTEED service-connected compensation you are missing out on compensation benefits you have earned. By virtue of serving your country YOU ARE ELIGIBLE for at least one claim, if not many more. For instance, tinnitus (Tinnitus is not itself a disease but a symptom resulting from a range of underlying causes, including ear infections, foreign objects or wax in the ear, and injury from loud noises. Tinnitus is also a side-effec…

Oversight Coming (hopefully)
From Jim Suhr Associated Press "Sen. Dick Durbin pledged Tuesday to push federal legislation to reform hiring practices at Veterans Affairs hospitals nationwide after the VA revealed three more doctors have been placed on leave by an Illinois site that already has stopped performing surgeries. VA officials who testified Tuesday before the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs did not offer specifics about the three surgeons recently placed on leave at the VA in Marion, Ill. Scrutiny in Marion has mushroomed since August, when Dr. Jose Veizaga-Mendez resigned three days after a Kentucky man bled to death following gallbladder surgery the surgeon performed. Sho…

"response To: Advice Needed"
Well fellow veterans, I asked for your advice on attending the QTC scheduled exam. Indeed there is a regulation under 38Cfr 3.655 In which is titled "Failure to report for a scheduled examination" under this they can reduce your current compensation or not rate you at all as a no show. So I went to the examination with my spouse, who is also my caregiver as Im a bit shaky these days. As a buisness proffesional, she quitely and politely gave the package to the Doctors receptionist who gave the QTC package back and handed her a bunch of forms to fill out. these were mostly Insurance information and a Wa. State HIPPA form and a Hold Harmless clause for the Doctor ( I wont…

ptsd Really Concerned About Reopening Ptsd/mst Claim
Trying to keep on task, but today my feelings are really deflated. Long story shortened, for years been unhappy (aka depressed) that I didnt appeal original claim disability issues. Really think I was in denial for years for depression, didnt start counseling until near decade later.

C&p Scheduled
Just got the letter from VA giving date of exams Nov. 29th. The letter does not state which condition the exams are for, there are 5 different issues, it just says Rating next to the date , and asks to bring in any outside medical records. The main issue is cervical and thoracic spine with GERD, Dysphagia (can't swallow solid food-lost 76lbs.), Cirrhosis as secondary to medications. The IMO stated the meds for pain caused all of the other problems , it expained everything step by step. I just don't know since I've not gotten this far in the process before and don't know what phase my claim is in now. What should I expect? Thanks all for any insight.

Vba Log Jam...chief Judge Greene Wants New Court House
This is about a two hour hearing. You have to start the at the 20 minutes mark before the Video begins. I think they do this to through people off. Takes a little while to load, but the information will show you why there is a backlog. Chief BVA Judge Greene, says that he requested that the full paid retired judges to come out of retirement for a 90-day period, but that they refused. http://veterans.senate.gov/public/index.cf...14&view=all

Service-connected Seizure Disability
In 1967, I left the Navy after serving in VietNam. I was diagnosed with petit-mal seizures. They have gotten progressively worse until I am now fully unemployable due to continued grand-mal seizures on medication- six 200mg. doses daily. The VA did pay me about ten years ago until my SSD kicked in. I have tried since to collect service-connected disability, but keep getting denied. I have repeatedly tried to get my service records, but they are missing or destroyed. MarkJ

Denied
Well, after 14 months, I finally get word back from VA. They denied my request for DIC because they claim my husband's death was not related to his service connected disability. However, they also have deferred a final decision about exposure to AO awaiting a final outcome on the Haas case. they did acknowedge the 40% disabilty rating he got in 1978 for reiters sydrome and that he was properly rated at that time. So what are my options here? Can I ask for an increase in rating? I know he had issues with high blood pressure very early in his carrer. Of course I wasn't married to him at the time. The navy almost didn't let him reenlist for the 1st time because his bl…
