Claim Denied For Medical Bills # 2
I wanted to separate this even though this is for the same Veteran I wrote about in the last Post. This Veteran had been in the local Hospital prior to the episode mentioned with Kidney failure due to a kidney infection. The Hospital filed the radiology bills and sleep therapy bills under Medicare Part B. He had NO Medicare Part B, never gave them anything but his Part A Card. I called Medicare Part A and they said they were responsible for payment for radiology and sleep therapy (a sleep apnea machine) while he was in the hospital; as seen here on their site http://www.medicare.org/content/view/15/49/ The widow received all these radiology EOB's from Medicare Part B deny…

Hard Words From A Shipmate
fwd from: VNVets Tuesday, October 16, 2007 Hard Words from a Shipmate These are some hard words from a shipmate in the Blue Water Navy Veterans of the Vietnam War. We think it is time they were said. -------------------------------------------- One of the extremely dangerous affects of the VA winning the Haas case is that, once they have successfully treated the Blue Water Navy as a "sub-class" or "new category" of veteran, essentially legally dividing the whole into parts, they will be able to use that as precedent to pick and choose which veterans get which types of benefits. Up until this point, all veterans (e.g., combat veterans, POWs, support t…

Got Voc Rehab But.......
Ok I have been approved for Voc Rehab, I'm trying to study animation at a private institution (Savannah College of Art and Design). My counselor has pass my case to an outside contractor, who has harped on the fact that I must chose a public institution for quite some time. I have a vet friend who used voc rehab to pay for her graphic design degree in a private school. I typed up this 20 page report on the market and jobs and people I've spoken to in the industry. From that I got this mail. "I received word from Mr. Ahonen, your VA counselor, that you have been approved to attend Georgia State University to obtain a bachelor of fine arts in Studio with a concentrati…

How To Get Out Of The Amc?
Hi, I am up in the middle of the night, trying to figure out this thing. Had to use my breathing machine anyway. On October 6, 2007, I receive this letter from the AMC and it states that they want more information from my doctor. They only have 4 letters from him, of course they lost the one of April 2006. At the same time, my Service Officer receives a letter, stating that I may be going for a New C&P, but when you look at that letter closely that darn letter is a year old. Dated October 6, 2006. R. Binder said this was a VCAA notice, The letter stated that they AMC is working on my claim from the BVA and that they have requested more information from …
