Missing Service Medical Records
Can anyone make a suggestion on how I should proceed........ I finally got copies of my SMRs. Wanted to file a claim for Feet and Back Injury sustained in April 1969. I have one IMO that states "more likely than not" but have run into the following problem with my SMR. My SMRs have no record of anything between when I got out of Basic Training in March 1868 until I went to sick call due to back complaint in July 1969 at Naval Station San Diego where I was sent for additional training from my duty station aboard a Destroyer. I had been aboard the Destroyer all that time.....one year and 4 months. A friend of mine sent me a copy of an entry to the ship's de…

diabetes Sad News For Me At Least
If I am posting this on the wrong forum, I apologize in advance. my husband passed away very suddenly yesterday afternoon. I was all by my self and had nobody waiting with me as things went down hill. Right after I heard the news, I tried calling the VA out patient clinic in in Ft.Smith. My husband was inconsiderate enough to die after business hours. When I called no one would pick up the phone. Even when I dialed 9 for emergency, no one answered the phone either in Ft. Smith OR Fayetteville. So I called the bastards up this morning to give them a piece of my mind. Nothing was resolved, they did not care that I am all alone, with no family or friends in the local area.…

Iris Inquiry About Dro And Reopened Claim.
I received a Response this evening from The VARO Manager herself. She stated the DRO has already reviewed my claim and a claim to re-open. She said a medical opinion was being sought at my local VA medical Center. Now I am confused for I had a C@P exam for the DRO review hearing because a medical opinion. You can see the C@P result below as for an opinion. This makes me think they are fishing for a negative opinion which I believe is in Viloation of the Regulations.

Questions
STATEMENTS IN SUPPORT---The VA has basically ignored most everything I have written to them, they have never answered a question I sent in a NOD or any other piece of paper, and beleive me I have asked allot of questions. So I am wondering do they read a cover letter that one of us may write when submitting additional evidence? I have started using statements in support of claims, I will no longer address a issue any other way. And also always send through a VSO or other 3rd party. VCAA PRE DECISION NOTICE, anyone have one? I would like to see a scanned one, I believe they messed up and didnt do this either when they did my case..........OK correction just found this o…

What Is "q" Status
Hi everyone, I just called the #800, to check the status on my claim. The guy read it off the screen to me. When I filed it, when I had my C&P, then he said it is in Q status. then going to rating board 26th of this month, then I should get my letter the first of Oct. and a check the first of Nov.?? Do they know all this, even if it's finished, or is he just telling us what we want to hear? This claim was for an increase for my S/C injury. He did seem to pretty sure of himself, and what he was saying, would be nice if this is koosher. He did spend some time with me on the phone. Thank's for help mrstix retired 25yrs.

Medical Mileage
I was just wondering if the medical mileage that Veterans get are the same at every VA, I always thought it was. I have always got .11, but then they subtract the $6.50 of the top, so I wind up with $.27, so don't even monkey around with it, unless I have to go to another VA futher away. The reason I ask, is because there was a Veteran from California, in Fargo, a couple of weeks back, claiming he gets $.27 cents a mile out there, and he only got $.09 in Fargo, boy was he mad, they called security on him, o get him settled down. I know you suppose to get more for C&P exams, and usually do, but I have been screwed out of that to, by having C&P on Saturdays, then…

What Are My Rights?
I am active duty Army, and have had 2 major back surgeries in the past 2 years. It is no secret that my Unit wants to get rid of me because I am filling a slot that someone who is able to deploy could fill. I have a very unique leadership structure because I am stationed at an Air Force Base. The person who has been appointed to "oversee" my medical situation is the Deputy Commander (an 0-5) and he has atleast held the false face of having my best interests in mind. Recently, I was referred to a neurosurgeon for what everyone involved in my care viewed as a last chance to save my military career (prior to an MEB/PEB). The doctor told me (as expected) that there was…
