How do I optain my mental health records. They weren't kept with my regular medical records, is this the norm in the Air Force. Do I have to write each base, because I'm sure they don't keep the records forever.

Blue Water Navy And Ao
I heard on the news today that a blue water navy vet who was offshore of Vietnam had his DMII claim accepted based on the exposure to AO. Some federal judge made the ruling. It should be in the newspaper or at VAwatchdog soon with more details. I did not think I would live to see that. Maybe some more conditions will be added to the presumptive list if their is a liberalizing mood for AO victims.

Cue On Poor Eye Vision And Cataracts
Greetings Short Version: I provided additional information last year to the VA and they recently admitted to incorrectly rating my poor eye vision and bilateral cataracts in 2000 as "Denied". The rating was changed from "denied" to "zero percent" for cataracts only and scheduled me for an eye exam on 27 Aug 06. My military medical records is packed (1970 - 1999) with eye related problems but the VA selectively highlighted the cataracts and ommitted the floaters, dry eyes, and blurred vision problems when they recently reverse the ratiing decision from denied to zero precent. Should I continue to persue this issue? Best Regards Chiefhouse :o

Letter To Ask Ro To Disregard Examiner's Report
So would sending this be a good idea? And what suggestions for changes do you have? Free C&P Service Clinician’s Guide § 4.2 “1.11 If an examination report does not contain sufficient details to adequately support the diagnoses (unless the diagnosis is already well established) or sufficient information about the current findings and effects on functioning, the RVSR will return the report as inadequate for rating purposes. (38 CFR 4.2) I consider the examination I received in March 2002 regarding my lung cancer to be totally inadequate for the following reasons and request that it not be used as a basis in determining my case. 1. The examiner di…

ptsd Effective Evidence For Depression / Anxiety / Ptsd Claim
Patrick / or Anyone else with info, First thank you from the bottom of my heart for you lending your expertise with this forum. My issues are a little different, thus I kept them to myself since 1992. I was retaliated against for whistle blowing by my chain of command. This went on for 2 1/2 years. Throughout that time period, I received threats against the welfare of my family, nearly a dozen admonitions, 4 reprimands, 2 poor performance appraisals (my prior 11 yrs were very good), Article 15 , General Courts-Martial. I was recommended for 1 mental health evaluation (which I declined), then ordered admitted to the psychiatric ward to submit to another (even after m…

Ao Blue Waters And
attorneys are starting to analyze this important decision- see Watch-Dog Larry's post from Hugh Cox- attorney-and at the many other vet sites that have this BIG news- This is odd- This decision is important to my Blue Water vets- never thought it pertained to my personal claim- but I just read something in Haas that DOES--- my husband's exposure was confirmed- but there is something there in Haas V Nickolson that could bring Feres Doctrine to the forefront and challenged. That day might never come- but it could ---- This is a staggering and long overdue AO decision and advocates are going to fight for this decision to hold and not be overturned.

Agent Orange Claims Expanded !
The U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims handed down a ruling Wednesday 16 August 2006 pertaining to Agent Orange Claims That will impact thousands of AO claims previously denied by the VA. Pharmacy Co-pay
My husband was awared an increase from 10 to 50% and on the letter it said effective date may 1. He took the letter to whoever at the VA for them to put the effective date into the system. Now, we are still receiving pharmacy bills. I called for the may bill and they took care of it. Then another bill comes for the month of June, I call and they take care of it. Oh by the way, I call the National Pharmacy number on the bill. Anyway, so we get another bill for the July charges with a late fee of 1.78, so I called and the woman called back today and said they ran a HINQ (whatever this is) and they said the combined effective date was 6-1. I asked what that meant and she s…

Effective Date Of Claim For Increased Rating.
In November 04 I went to the VA complaining of neck problems with turning the neck and pain as well as increased sensory disturbances. I filed a claim in March for an increase of C degenerative Joint and Degenerative Disk Disease. According to the C@P results I feel fairly confident this will be granted but I am a little confused as to the exact effective date. Would it be the date the entitlement arose or the date of VA examimination?

Increase In Disability Not Known
I was given 30% in 1992 for my headaches, which was the maximum at that time. When I asked for an increase in 2004, I was then given given 50%, which was the maximum at that time. They only backpaid me to the date that I filed for my increase. When did the max for headaches increase from 30% to 50%? and since I was already getting the max and didn't know that there was an increase, how or can I get backpaid to the actual time that the increase took place?

ptsd Ptsd
I have had headaches every day for 26 years, I'm usually in bed most of the day, with 4-5 days a week being completely bedridden because of the headaches. I was on demerol from 1982-2002 and elavil and other meds. Then I was put on Stadol, Elavil, Topiamate (Topamax), Phenergan, Gabapentin(Neurontin). The past year I have going 2-3 days without sleeping, not even a nap. So I had requested to see someone about it because I was getting depressed. Unfortunely, I what the put me on didn't help. I was either so depressed or the medicine to help me sleep had me so sedated that I tried to walk into a pond. I admitted myself to the hospital phyc ward (4 days). They …
