ptsd Study On Vets With Ptsd And Fibromygalia
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Fibromyalgia In this study, researchers assessed the tenderness, sensitivity to pain, and distribution of fibromyalgia syndrome (FS)-related symptoms (such as pain sensitivity, sleep disturbances, headaches, etc.) in 29 post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) patients as compared to a control group of 37 healthy subjects. The goal was to determine the prevalence of FS in patients with PTSD, and to compare the differences between PTSD patients with and without FS. Predictably, the PTSD patients reported higher levels of tenderness, a lower quality of life, and a higher rate of physical impairment. PTSD subjects also …

ptsd Psychological Effect Of Motor Vehicle Accidents
Psychological Effect of Motor Vehicle Accidents This study reviewed the literature that deals with the psychological complaints of whiplash and traffic accident patients, in particular, PTSD. 1 The author focused on the characteristics of PTSD and a victim’s phobic anxiety to both the traumatic event, and driving a car, in general. Overall, he concluded that although psychological morbidity decreases with time, in the long term, victims will have higher than average psychological complaints over the long-term. The most important predicative risk factor for PTSD is the psychological impact of the stressor: studies show that when patients are tested for intrusion a…

ptsd Anthrax Vaccines Considered "injury"
This CVAC precedent is about anthrax vaccination, but would this apply to all vaccines that cause disabling conditions? I inserted this out of order to show the "held" info first, but the full case follows: HELD: If evidence establishes that an individual suffers from a disabling condition as a result of administration of an anthrax vaccination during inactive duty training, the individual may be considered disabled by an "injury" incurred during such training as the term is used in 38 U.S.C. § 101 (24), which defines "active military, naval, or air service" to include any period of inactive duty training during which the individual was disabled o…

Traveling Bva Vs. Bva Washington Dc
I went to see the VSO in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I have my SSOC, 12-28-05. The VSO told me that if I wanted a hearing, in Washington D.C., that I would have to wait 5 to 10 years at this point. This VSO told me that he could not represent me at a traveling board hearing, because it was all the way to Little Rock. This VSO claimed that he had to many claims, 1000 to handle by himself. I would like to know the advantages, or disadvantages, of the Traveling BVA and the BVA in D.C. I have told the Regional Office to wave my 60 days to expedite my claims. I did not send in the appeal form yet.

Champva
I took my wife to the VAMC today to get her enrolled in the VA health care system via ChampVA. I was told the application would be delayed because they don't have enough female doctors to treat women. What do you think of that? They are making continual cutbacks at the VAMC in Tampa. This is happening right in front of our eyes and it is going to get worse.

tdiu C&p Doctor Comments Ignored
I am currently awaiting an appeal for higher % on my left knee osteo arthritis disability and TDIU. I have obtained a copy of the C&P exam February 2004. I was awarded 20% but in the opionions section the Doctor stated I couldn't do my usual occupation because of the pain and arthritis in my left knee. He also stated that I also can't do my usual household duties as before. I currently only receive 20% but have several secondary conditions on file awaiting action. He clearly stated that I was in pain when I did leg flexions for him but there is no mention of pain in the Decision. Should the VA have considered the pain and the statement about not being able to do my us…

Vamc Dr. Double Talk
I've been try to get a report of my MMPI for a little over a week and finally thought I was going to get the requested report. What I got was a sit down with a psychologist who verbaly discussed the results with me. when I asked for a written report, he told me that their isn't one per say, their is a short brief added to the records as having taken it and a code is given, because of the sensitive nature of the information related to the test, so that it could be review by qualified persons. So I guess they are not going to give me the actual report and the test results as they apply to a score sheet. I would like to know how I am going to get this report and score s…

Is My Dad Eligible...?
This is probably the wrong place to ask this question, but I am really having difficulty finding the "right place". I've scoured the VA web pages and just get more confused each page I pull up. Maybe someone here can help... My Dad is 89 years old, lives by himself in the home he bought in the early 1950's, and is reasonably still self sufficient. He is a WWII vet and served in Europe during the war as an infantryman. He has no income except for Social Security, which is very little. He has very little money in a savings account and has no other investments or income of any kind. He has never applied for any VA benefits execpt for when he first got out of the A…

Foia Va Reply
I griped to the VA Inspector General recently- my letter was two fold- One was about the VAROs violation of claimants rights and other stuff-plus they cant read- the other part was about some questions that the VA has still never answered regarding my husband's death- Well yesterday I got this letter from the VA, Washington DC- General Counsel- In 2003 0r 2004 I contacted them to see what else they had under FOIA I could get on Rod's wrongful death- they referred me to Regional Counsel up here and he notified me that the Buffalo office had nothing more than what I already have- I did get a copy of a medical report sometime back under FOIA that I could not…
