hypertension Stroke Rating
My claim for 100 percent for six months for my Feb 05 Stroke was denied. During a May 05 CP they service connected the stroke because of my SCed hypertension and rated it for residuals at 10 percent. The rating letter stated" a rating of 100 percent is not warranted because of no indications of a current or recently active disease is present". 38 CFR states that for a stroke "rate at 100 percent for six months, the rate residuals no less that 10 percent. If my stroke was in Feb o5, my daughter filed the claim in Mar 05 with hospital records, MRI and IMO from 38 year board certified neurologist stating that the stroke happened in Feb 05, how can they say there was no a…

Tb Misdiagnosis
The VA doctors misdiagnosed a vet with TB. They reported the diagnosis to the state and the veteran had to start taking the mandatory medications. Private doctor says diagnosis not correct. Now the state is on his doorstep again to force him to take more treatment for TB. He has shown them his private doctor's report, but still they insist he take this medication. Do any of you know how he might stop this? Carrie

ptsd Ptsd "in House" Treatment
Hello, would those of you in the know please give me your opinions of going to the ptsd treatment programs? The ones where you actually go into the facility for an extended period of time. What are they trying to accomplish? What actually happens in there? Is there a particular program better than others? A particular hospital better than others? Thanks.

Gi Bill
Greetings Comrades, Our legs can't stand climbing stairs anymore and the ortho doc prescribed moving to a ranch house. A single level house without steps. My kids have located several places/locations in Texas that fit the bill but I don't want to move the 600 miles away from my favorite salvage yard. Anyhow, We would like to look into using my GI Bill to help finance another place. We may have to build from scratch to get what we need. Land is not getting any cheaper either. What's the first step of the process to acquire the GI Bill loan? sledge

----- Original Message ----- From: "tetvet2" <tetvet@mhcable.com> ----------------------------------------------------------- I received this from another vets grop, how much is true, I do not know, but make up your own mind. New Message on VETS 4 VETS USA ----------------------------------------------------------- From: tetvet2 Message 1 in Discussion I am sure this will get the Republicans panties in a bunch, but that is not why I am posting it. I am also sure it will have people running to snopes to make sure it is not a commie plot. My belief is that we need to stop ranting about the left, the right, the conservatives, and the…

5296 - Skull Loss
A Dro added this issue to my claims : 5296 - Skull loss inner and outer tables. I don't understand this and sure do wish our inhouse nurse Joel, was still on board her to help explain it. I think the reason the DRO added 5296 to my claim issues is due to a VA Brain MRI that states: Within the right temporal lobe there is decreased volume of the right temporal brain parenchyma with increased CSF signal, inferiorly, This measures 1.7 X 0.9 cm on coronal imaging. The cinfiguration on axial imaging suggest focal atrophy of the right temporal lobe, although arachnoid cyst is also possible with the coronal appearance. I spoke with my VA neurologist and shrink abo…

Feres Doctrine
I've signed many petitions over the years and wrote letters to congressional representatives regarding an attempt to abolish this doctrine. As I'm sure most of you know, the Feres Doctrine allows the military medical system to provide substandard care to active duty military free of any culpability or vulnerability to lawsuits for medical malpractice, even when the substandard care results in death. It was borne from a need many years ago to exempt wartime field medics from legal accountability for triage care administered on the battlefield. Now, it exists to protect military healthcare providers from accountability and lawsuit for substandard care. I personall…

Accuracy Of Va Research
A VA researcher is studying a frog: He cuts off it's front left leg, tells it to jump and it jumps. He cuts off it's front right leg, tells it to jump and it jumps. He cuts off the frog's back left leg, tells it to jump and it jumps. Finally he cuts off it's remaining leg, tells it to jump but it doesn't jump. Published conclusion: After cutting off all four legs, a frog loses it's ability to hear.
