Priority Medical Care
I am s/c at 10% awaiting DRO decision for 100%. My question is how does the ratings affect medical care by specialist? I thought I was entitled to care at the VA for my s/c condition but when the Dr. I saw at the VA sent in the referral for Neurology it was sent back because they were busy and I was not a priority unless I was at least 50%. So I had to use my medicare to see the same doc at another hospital. My 10% condtions covers muitliple body parts/functions. Do I need to fight to have a code for each body part? There is no VA code for the condtion so my SO and VA doc requested that they use one for Lupus or Leukemia and rate is as 100%. It is currently at "th…

Bva
Does anyone know if there is anyplace a person can find old cases that have been decided by the BVA 33 years ago. The reason I ask, i found the front page with docket number, but nothing else from one of my cases from July, 1972. I lost, but would like to see their resoning, as i never did get to read about it, just a letter I received, denying my claims. I see my post from yesterday, must of got deleted, as it isn't on the Claim forum page.

ptsd C&p's
Comrades, I am service connected already for PTSD and FMS, [Fibromyalgia]. I showed-up for my Fibromyalgia C&P examination early. I got in early. The examiner has not the slightest idea of what to do. I'm just going to wait and see what he writes. My CAT scan was canceled in favor of an MRI that will take place later this month. My C&P for PTSD. I got to the mental health building early. The C&P was not scheduled to be held there. I asked for a map. Didn't get one. I was handed an address on a stickup note. I drove around in a strange city looking for an address 'and for the building' that the exam was supposed to take place in for a perio…

Respiratory Toxicants
Respiratory Toxicants Exposure to chemical substances can cause adverse effects on the respiratory system, which consists of the nasal passages, pharynx, trachea, bronchi, and lungs. Respiratory toxicity can include a variety of acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, including local irritation, bronchitis, pulmonary edema, emphysema, and cancer. It is well known that exposure to environmental and industrial chemicals can impair respiratory function. Ground-level ozone, the main component in smog, causes breathing problems, aggravates asthma, and increases the severity and incidence of respiratory infections. Acute exposure to respiratory toxicants can trigger effects…

Nod Or Not?
My husband received a rating decision for Special Monthly Compensation (SMC) a couple of months ago. We thought it was rated too low, but we hadn't yet filed an official Notice of Disagreement (NOD). However, I did talk to our senator's veteran and military representative about several things that are going on with the VA and us, and during the conversation, I mentioned that I thought the SMC was wrong. We just received a letter from the Congressional Liason saying the VA is working my husband's SMC claim for R1/R2! Obviously, the senator's office must have initiated this, but does his inquiry suffice as an NOD? Or should we make sure we go through the usual proced…

It Has Arrived, Arrived, Arrived At Last!
:( My purchase of the VBM CD has arrived, arrived, arrived at last. LOL :( It is loaded with so much information, It will take my limited concentration, a long time to go through it all. Their's just to much to list, even if I could. At least I will have something to keep me company during this coming winter. I just hope I can use the information packed into the CD, sooner than later. Jim S. :(

The C&p:
I got my two minutes of C&P. I vaguely remember him asking me if I was in combat and marriage problems. I think the way to approach these guys is to take a shopping list and either leave it on their desk so they have to enter it in the record, or insist the guy listen to your story. I moved from 30% to 50% in 2 minutes. Now I will go after my other 50% & unemployabiity. I think I told him I was disabled since 1990. Not sure. I have the DAV doing my case and set about a rebuttle soon. Like the new board!!

When Can A Cue Be Used?
I was turned down in August of '2003 for "Neck Strain" I wasn't to upset about it at the time, becuase they upped my DDD for lower back from 0% to 30%. Now after combing through my records I have found proof of service connection where I was seen and sent to Physical Therapy for "Neck Strain" and probably nerve impingement (cervical spine) C6-C7. I never had xrays in the army, but low and behold just this past May I now have an Xray and MRI of my cervical spine whcih show C5/C6 level: small right paracentral and far lateral disc herniation causing mild thecal sac compression and moderate narrowing of the neural formina. There is "probable Nerve Impingment" at this…

tinnitus How Will It Be Rated? (not A % ?)
I looked at the c&p exam forms awhile back and realized it will take a variaty of these to evaluate me on my claim. I have a brain injury that is not proven SC yet but will be. I have been denied in '03 for the head injury, and will CUE that after claim is rated. The question is, I have one injury that causes a wide range of debilatating symptoms-attention, concentration, memory, cognative deficits, severe fatigue, depresion, anxiaty, probable csf leak (undiagnosed to date), and I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. Oh, no can smell anything, tinnitus,...... anyway, it will take a number of different exams, all of which are compensatable, just to cover one injury. I'm afraid…
