tinnitus Need Help With Hearing Claim
can anyone advise please? In October 2001, i filed a claim for tinnitus and hearing loss. I was denied on grounds the hearing wasn't bad enough (yet VA issued me hearing aids and counselled me about Tinnitus). At that time I didn't have a letter form a competent source statining tinnitus was service connected or most likely as a result. The county VA rep said to not fight it. This year, I had another hearing test (private source-audiologisst that is an M.A.). My hearing is worse and the tinnitus is worse. She wrote a letter to VA stating tinnitus and hearing loss was likeley result of service. The county VA rep decided to reopen the case from 2001. However the VA resp…

Here's a training letter I had stored in my favorites. Best to all, carlie January 21, 2003 Director (00/21) All VBA Regional Offices and Centers Training Letter 03-01 SUBJ: Duties and Responsibilities of the Decision Review Officer (DRO) Purpose of This Letter The DRO program was first pilot tested in 1997, with permanent implementation in 2000. From 1997 until the present time, a number of things have changed with the DRO position, notably the introduction of the post-decision review process, as codified in 38 CFR 3.2600, and the creation of the Claims Process Improvement (CPI) structure. This letter clarifies the: • Role of the DRO i…

Two Sided V.a. Letter
Awhile back in January 2004 a letter arrived from V.A. Regional Office in Ft. Harrison, Montana. I didn't notice then that the letter was two sided. Because I didn't notice that I failed to file a Notice of Disagreement for my husband on some issues outlined in the letter like the fact that V.A. admitted that a July 1990 letter had the wrong rates for a 50% rating less apportionment and the fact that VARO granted an apportionment to his first wife and children effective 3/23/87 after having granted his ex wife an apportionment effective 3/24/86 without notice to him and without him filing a claim for additonal compensation for dependents then. I had sent V.A. a copy of…

ptsd I Just Had An Odd Thought
B) If I can read the Hanoi newspaper on line- I wonder what the Vietnamese think-since they can do the sameo on line to our news- and they can see how the VA causes so much grief to veterans, who got injured there or got PTSD there , as well as the same AO problems they have healthwise, not to mention everywhere else the troops have gone. Of course terrorists and all of the enemys we have in Afganistan and Iraq do that too- I guess Fidel is also on line- It is a national disgrace as to what veterans put up with at the VA regardless of when and where or how long they served-and an embarassment to our nation when you consider how many other countries know this …

tinnitus Tinnitus Claim / Heraring Aides
I am filing another claim for Tinnitus. I have had OM for years and also had it in service. I went today to the VA and th e little lady was exceptional. I had went tp private doc last week. He said I needed $2000 for hearing aides. Well to make a long story short, I pick up the hearing aides in a couple of weeks at no cost to me. Plus I can actually make the misses happy and turn down the TV.

Report Of Va Contact Question
I have a call box on each of three phones and check them a few times a day for calls I missed. I also just went through over 4,000 old emails. The VA under Evidence in this crappy SOC said Report of Contact May 5, 2004 and April 7, 2005. These dates correspond with no mail, calls, or email from the VARO.They dont match with any evidence dates or any actions taken in the SOC. On April 7th 2005 I got my usual emailed press release from VACO. That stuff is public news , nothing to do with my claim. What does Report of Contact mean?

Another Source For Lost Or Burned Military Records
Searching through the messages on the old site, I came across this from following a link in one of Allan Opie's posts (don't you just love his "matter-of-fact" posts!). I thought it might be good to post it again for those whose records burned in the '70s fire. State veterans bonus files a mine of data By DONNA MURRAY ALLEN Published October 30, 2003 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I discovered one of the best-kept secrets in the world of genealogical resources when I learned about the World War II bonus applications at the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg. The applications include the veteran's n…
