Two Lower Back Discectomys And Back Fusion
Just retired about 8 months ago and submitted my claims to VA about 8 months ago. I had two lower back discectomy's where they removed parts of 3 lower back discs, and then had to have a back fusion on the same area about 5 years later. Condition only getting worse not better. Anyone have any idea what percent this might be? I know its all a guessing game, but thought someone might have same type of condition. it has caused all kinds of havoc with legs and nerves in my legs.

Va Tested My Hearing And Provided Hearing Aids, But....
Does that necessarily mean I will get rated for it if it is deemed to be service related? I have hearing test from sub school in my record that was submitted with claim. I separated in 1995 and have not worked in a loud environment or been subjected to loud noises since separation. I also have significant tinnitus. Hearing tests substantiated my tinnitus as well. I was on subs and believe the pressure and pressure changes along with various noises are to blame. Anyway, does having enough hearing loss to require the use of hearing aids necessarily mean I will be rated for hearing loss? I feel like I will probably get rated for tinnitus. Just not sure how significant hearin…

Secondary Condition; Can I?
I am rated 20% for my back condition...over 20 years now. Originally, my rating was 10% for muscular low back pain but having 2 back injuries in-service, an L3 fx, spondololothesis at L5/S1 documented, I appealed. The VA then increased my rating to 20% after the BVA appeal, and labeled it IVDS/intervertebral disc syndrome, at L5/S1 with degenerative changes. That was 1995. They never found the old L3 fx, but there was also evidence of a T12 compression fx on film, as early as my first C&P exam, Jan 1992...less than 60 days after I'd been discharged after 8 1/2 years active duty. Later, the old L3 fx showed on film, as well as an L2 crush fx,(1997 & 1999). Then…

Seizure &/or Menieres Disease Claim Help
I have been following Hadit for several months to gain knowledge for my claim. I have a questions and need guidance. In 1996 I had the American Legion help with a claim. I was not diagnosed but through the explanations of my ailments they Claimed Seizure Disorder. I was seen for a C&P exam in Biloxi which was not honestly an exam, but the Primary Care Physician and Neurologist I saw after the C&P Exam were treating for Seizure Disorder. What my symptoms were, loss of balance, dizzy spells, nausea and tinnitus. I was treated for about 4 or so years and just stopped going. I honestly did not know how or what the claim process was. I assumed since I was being treated…

Helping A Fellow Vet
Good evening everyone, I am assisting another vet with his claim. Here is a little back ground. This vet was hit by a passenger car while on base when he was in the Marine Core. He suffered many injuries which I will list here shortly. They wanted to medically discharge him at the time but he was able to talk his commander in keeping him in since he was so young and wanted to do so. He was discharged later because his enlistment was up and he wanted out. He did not put a medical claim in until about 8 years later. To make this short he was given ten percent for hearing loss. I will copy and paste his injuries he sustained so you ca…

Liver Damage
Question, Has anyone ever received compensation for liver damage? I just retired about 6 months ago after 20 years and I am starting to have swollen liver problems. It started my last year in the military and now it is getting worst. When I was in, I was told it was due to drinking and smoking. Now that I am out, my doctor claims that it was a combination of the meds pertaining to my high blood pressure and high cholesterol medication I was on. No, I was not a heavy drinker, however, I was a heavy smoker (trying to quick). Any thoughts?

ptsd Smc Award?/
Hi, currently I am 80% right now and I just came back from C&P exams for ED due to PTSD. The doctor told me he is going to write a note to VA about my condition and he told me he is on my side. I had tons of medication evidence and private treatments notes to back it up and I had to go throught some unpleseant exams during this process in order to prove my ED. I am glad it's over now. I am hoping everything goes well now, the question is will VA automatically up my payment or do I have to file SMC claim regarding ED once the claim is over. Thank you

1151 Claim Advice Needed...
Well for the past 6 months I have been having some horrible issues going on that I have been telling my VA PCP over and over. First it started with me feeling sick and really, really fatigued. I thought it was the Percocet so I asked my VA PCP if he could switch me to something else. So, he switched me to Morphine. Well that didn't work either as I was still fatigued. My sleep pattern was all out of whack and it was crazy. So, I asked to be switched again and he precribed Oxycodone. I found it better than the other ones. I wasn't getting sick but I was still fatigued and my sleep patters were still messed up. Example: I would sleep from 10pm-7am. That should be plenty of …

Cervical Radiculopathy Claimed As Secondary Condition!
I am a 50% vet with a claim for two conditions, Cervical radiculopathy as secondary to left knee surgery and chronic lower back pain as well. I was released in January 2000 and have had chronic back pain since before I got out. I went to a local ER in early December of 2000 with shoulder and elbow pain, numbness in hand and his opinion was that my conditions were consistent with cervical radiculopathy and for the last 14 years I have been in a whole lot of pain.I have been on meds for years as well. I have been going through pain management for two years through a private pain management doctor and before that the VA had me on methadone for over two years. I filed a clai…

Medicare Question..
I have medicare and originally I switched to Humana Medicare Advantage to take advantage to the lower co payments and out of pocket costs. But, the one thing I dislike very much is I have been waiting approximately TWO months to get approval to have shots done in the joints of my lumbar spine. I did originally get approved in December but the pain management doctor was so booked he couldn't schedule the shot until after the new year. But Humana only approved the shots to be done by the end of December. A few minutes ago I called the Doctors office and they told me they did resend to get approval and so I have been waiting and waiting. Tired of waiting.. My questio…
