Imo Terms
I finally got my IMO from the neurosurgeon that worked on my back. I gave him clear instructions on using the phrases "more that likely" or "as likely as not". When the person typed the letter, she quoted the doctor as saying "it seems to me that it is very likely that the pathology for which I operated on he incurred in this lifting incident while he was deployed in Egypt". He also stated that "there is no question in my mind that there is a direct casual relationship between the injury he sustained in Egypt and the necessity he had for an L4 and L5 diskectomy and sebsequent fusion". My question: Will the above be okay or do I need to get the IMO retyped to state …

Questions Re: Ms & Viet Nam/ Need Opinions Please
I have MS and I was stationed in Germany in 1976-1977. As I am reading about MS and vets, it seems that Agent Orange was the factor if a vet was stationed in VietNam. Those appear to be the vets that are successful in receiving compensation. I don't think I came in contact with Agent Orange because I was in Germany. I received the immunizations of who knows what. I was also gassed a few times in training Do I even bother to apply? How would I answer the question of "how is my disability related to my service in the military"? Are there any other factors that I am unaware of? I've just begun looking into all of this. Thanks-

My Claim For Multiple Sclerosis Was Denied. What Do I Do Next?
My claim was denied - what do I do next? This are the VA reasons: "Review of your service treatment records were negative for any complaints, treatment, or diagnosis of MS during your military service." (At 18 I didn't even know what MS was, let alone know what any of the symptoms were. If I had any slight symptoms, I would have blown them off. So this doesn't seem very unusual to me.) "Review of the cited treatment records show that you first sought treatment at the VA in 2002, at which time you reported and 18 year history of MS." (I never sought treatment at the VA because I always had private health insurance. Prior to 2002 I had been taking weekly inj…

Hello Vets, I'm in the process of establishing Persumptive SC from a back injury suffered in 1995 while deployed. At the time I thought it was just a sore muscle so I didn't go to the medics and report it. (I know I've learned my lesson!) Anyway what I had was a ruptured disc that required surgery just 2 months later. It was determined that I was no longer world wide qualified in Nov. 1996 and I was discharged Jan 97. Of course when I was turned down it was because I couldn't prove SC. My case was recently remanded back to the RO for another C&P exam, which hasn't been scheduled yet. My neurosurgeon told me he would be happy to write a IMO for me. He stated …

Being A Disabled Veteran
The other day I had a bad toothache. Being unemployed and with no health insurance, I turned to the VA Medical Center in Philadelphia. It would be my first time testing out the treatment on other things that were not directely related to my service connection. After arriving, I witnessed the same old circus at the lobby and the clerk sent me around to various stations. I finally got up to the Dental Clinic, waited, and waited again while in pain. I finally got x-rayed, then examined, and the young dentist told me the tooth needed to come out, but it had to be after lunch. He also mentioned that I should come back and get the rest of the other things taken care o…
