Once you know you are eligible for Veterans Disability Compensation, the question then becomes are you entitled to it by law. This is where to post those questions. it's OK, if you are feeling confused this is not at all unusual it can be a very confusing system. If you were injured in service and have a question about whether you are entitled to file a claim, post it here. Law 38C.F.R.3.4 (a)

Appeal Or What?
I recently recieved a decision from the rating board and disagreed with one issue. My IBS was service connected, but at 0%. The decision said that I had loose stool daily accompanied by abdominal distress. However, for 10% I would have to have frequent episodes of bowel disturbance with abdominal distress. What is their definition of frequent? I filled out a NOD and asked for a DRO. Is this what I should have done? What happens next? How long does it take for somehting like this? Thanks in advance your help and responses.

Question About Iu And Vocrehab
OK. I am in VochRehab right now and have been for about a year. In Nov I had a reevaluation done by the VA, was a yearly thing they said. The DAV handles my claims now, my wife was my NSO, but now she is retired.. I got a call from the DAV NSO and he said the VA rater looking at my file hinted to the DAV rep that I might have a few other claims that I should file. OK so I gave the approval to file for a few things.. one came back right away and I went from 40% to 60% combined. The others items are in process. The DAV rep mentioned to me that once this was all done, and if my rating got to the right range that they would file for IU.. ( the rater made this hi…

His Medical Records From Va Hospital
Here is a good question for you - what did it say at the bottom of the page on your medical records before VA gave you a disability? My late husband's said - HIS NAME, than right next to it - SERVICE CONNECTED 50 - 100% - Next line contained his SS#, DOB, the words CONSULTATION SHEET Next line ADDRESS, then Standard Form 513 (Rev 9-77) Is this how it is on yours before you received a VA recognized disability??

Hypothetical Case Of A Accident Caused By A Disability
Consider a sc veteran that has chronic pain in his hips. The veteran is riding his motorcycle, there is a bump and the motorcycle has small loss of stability for a second and concomitantly the bump causes the veteran a very sharp pain in his hip which then makes the veteran to complete loose control and to fall from his motorcycle and ended up involved in a serious accident: and the veteran has a serious fracture in his arm (needing surgery, etc). How hard is for the veteran to prove that the accident and its consequences (injury) is related to his hip disability (pain)?. And how hard is it for the VA to prove that it is not related to his hip disability? tk
