I am currently 70% service connect. 40 for Lower back strain with degenerative changes, 10 neuritis lower extremities bilaterally secondary to the lower back strain, 10 tinitus, 10 depression. The report that I got back showed a change to the diagnosis which reads" Bilateral Neuritus of Lower Extremities Associated with Low Back Strain with Degenerative Changes, The Diagnosis is changed to Disc Syndrome with Degenerative Arthritic Changes and The Most Likely Involved Nerve is the Sciatic Nerve which effects both sideds of the body. This Results in a progression of the previous diagnosis…

ptsd Your First C&p For Any Condition...
In my ten years of battling the VA to get my 100%, and helping a co-worker and my uncle (both who served in Vietnam) get their PTSD ratings approved, one piece of advice I can give to ANY veteran of ANY era is "get to know your condition" BEFORE you got to your first C&P examination. Most VA C&P examiners ARE NOT experts in the conditions for which you are seeking disability. Therefore, the more you know about what you are going through, the better you are at communicating that condition to the VA C&P (albeit inexperienced professional) examiner. T.S.

C& P For Emotional Health
I was really scared and anxious leading up to this day. I tried keeping busy and went for a couple of runs to clear my head. On the day of the exam I was really feeling sickly. Just nerves.. The examiner was a female and friendly. "Deep breathe"... First question dealing with my condition and the tears flowed. Great I thought. But the questions got easier even though the memories never do. So I basically cried and answered. With my conditions I feel like a total basket head, thoughts of suicide yes (it's nice being asleep and not thinking about anything), thoughts of harming others (repeatedly) (yes, scared to death I would hurt my children or even someone driving down th…

Rating Disabilities
On my C&P exam results, the Examiner stated the Range of Motion after repetitive motion right and left leg extension was 0 to 20 degrees. My bilateral knee disability is rated at 20% per knee. The knees are rated under DC 5260. My question is can knee disability also be rated under DC 5261 which would give me 30% per knee? Also I had surgery for a torn medial medial meniscus tear. I pointed out to the VA that the type of tear (horizontal cleavage tear) is consistant with the type of service-connected knee disability. I sent the VA research about the type of tear and the causes. Whe the VA sent me for the C&P exam, they did not request the Examiner make a determ…

ptsd Ptsd C&p Yesterday
1st post ever, hello to all. Hope some of you can help to put me at ease. My Psyc Doc kept interjecting her psyc solutions to my problems. I didn't think that I was there to hear solutions to my problems, but rather for her to document what my problems are. I explained how I don't like to be around people, how I have so much built up anger toward Arab people and basically humanity in general, lack of trust issues and many other typical PTSD symptoms and all I would get from her is how I needed to change how I see things etc. WTF. I now I need to change, I don't particularly like who I've become, but I am who I am now and I hold the military responsible for whom I'…

C & P Exams For Sleep Apnea
OK, I just got two appointment letters saying that I have two C & P exams both for sleep apnea, 1st is a physical exam and the 2nd is a mental health exam. I am really confused, I have already had two VA sleep studies that show I have sleep apnea and I was issued a C PAP machine by VA and I have a VA neurologist that diagnosed me with sleep apnea and I still have to get a C & P exam. What a waste of time, even if the C & P doctors disagree I already have two test and two VA doctors that says my condition is related to my military service. Now I have to force myself to get out of bed to go to these two appointments in the next two weeks for what, for them to…
