C&p Exam For Tmj
Anyone have any recent experience with the VA performing a C&P TMJ exam? Will the comprehensive exam performed by a VA Oral Surgeon count the same as a C&P exam? I am looking to file an increase from 10% to a higher percentage because my ROM has deteriorated significantly. I am hoping they can use my most recent examination instead of putting me to the meat grinder again. On 12/24/2009, the VA oral surgeon gave me an examination for my TMJ pain. The "completed care:" indicated (D0150) COMPREHENSIVE ORAL EVALUATION. The exam took almost an hour and included a new panorex x-ray. I looked up the VA Dental and Oral C&P exam, but it was lacking in sp…

First C & P Exam Scheduled
All, I have two C & P Exams are scheduled for 5 & 14 Jan and these are my first ever. I went to the Texas Veterans Commision (TVC) three weeks ago and signed a Power of Attorney. The VA called me and sent a letter because from an IRIS I sent. They scheduled me for appointments on 5 and 15 Jan, for hearing/tennitus and others. I contacted my TVC Rep and asked this question, but still not sure. Maybe someone can explain. I had applied a claim for 21 different injuries/illnesses, but my two exams only cover 11. The TVC said the appointments are for claims that need further exams; Range of Motion, Pain, Scars; and the others have enough medical documentation…

Secondary Issues
I have a 10% SC injury on the left knee. A C&P was done last week on the left knee only. Am awaiting the results of a request for increase. 1. Because of the left knee injury which occured 30 yrs ago, my right knee is giving me problems due to favoring it all these yrs. Doctors early on told me this would most likely occur. 2. After the injury to my left knee, I had a numbness, tingling, pressure type sensation down my leg and into my foot. I told the VA drs about this decades ago but it wasn't severe and nothing was ever done about it. Main thing was treating the knee. This foot is now in bad shape, arthritis has set in, etc. Question : I know this will not …

Tmj And Va Rep
My VA rep recently filed a claim on my behalf for temp 100% due to the time I missed from work for recent surgeries. I told my rep I would like to submit an additional claim for the problems I am having with my jaw such as the limited range of motion, facial pain and headaches. My rep told me after my current claim is decided the VA will automatically administer an examination for my current medical condition and then decide my percentage of disability. Is this right? I was under the impression I had to submit additional claims for the loss of motion for my jaw, pain, and headaches. Also, I am already service connected for TMJ.

C&p
I had C&P yesterday I thought it went well he asked about my hearing loss he did not ask about the ringing in my ears I told him in the interview. It took place in a sound proof room and ringing was like it was amplified live and in full stereo. The doc a young fellow explained his findings that I was very close to needing hearing aids and shood protect my hearing. He also said that the damage from the loud noise jet aircraft caused the ringing in my ears and the hearing loss. So i will wait to see it on paper.

Temp Unemployable
I received my rating a few months ago for 80%. I was medically retired from the AF for consistant back problems. Anyway, shortly after I received my rating I was bed ridden for a week and applied for a temporary 100%. In the mean time I was given some shots and no longer want to be rated at 100%. I am scheduled for a exam next week to evaluate me. Basically another C and P exam. Can I cancel my claim without it effecting the 80%. One of the lady's at the VA said if I cancel my appointments they can take away my original rating. Is that true? What should I do since I no longer want to be rated at temp 100%.

Just Got Back From C&p.
I've been drawing a 10% SC disability on my left knee since 1983......... In 26 years I've never filed for an increase. HAve had 2 VA surgeries performed on it. One before the original file was claimed and one a few years after the file was claimed and awarded. I went yesterday for a C&P that was supposed to have been for my left knee and also my left foot which has gone bad, and also on my right knee which has gone bad due to favoring it all these years. The examiner only looked at my left knee. Said that was all he was supposed to do. At the outset he told me that it was to my benefit not to ramble on, just answer the questions with short, concise answers. The…

How To Request Back Pay For Old Claim?
In 1968 I filed a claim for problems with my knee that I broke when on active duty. Due to problems with the VA during my first C&P I never followed up on the claim. In 2008 I was awarded 10% compensation for arthritis. How to claim pain back to 1968 which was in the original claim, and request reconsideration for back pay? FYI, I have a NOD in process but the above is not part on the NOD. Thanks for any direction Ken

Iris
Has anyone has a problem with the VA IRIS...??? I asked a question about my claim through the system and requested a telephone response...well after 5 days nothing. So I did a second request and asked for response by e-mail. Is this typical for the IRIS with no responses...???
